Strangest thing I ever heard, was a number of years ago when I
visited London.
At one point I ended up in a cheap and cheerful street cafe. On the menu was
various types of meat pies with mash and liquor!
Well i knew mash was mashed potato, but liquor? I had never heard of a pint of
beer poured over mashed potato.
It turned out to be the local description for parsley sauce.
