Oh, you better wake up, you better face facts
Cause Jesus Christ wants His holiday back
Santa Clause is an idol God

This idolotry, perversion of truth
commercialism deceiving our youth
Santa Clause is an idol God

We're lying to our children. we want them to believe
That fat man in a big red suit is coming on Christmas eve

Oh, this is not why our God sent His son
It really is an abomination
Santa Clause in an idol God

It's about Jesus Christ and this is His day
It's time to put all this nonsense away
Santa Clause is an idol God

You know that God is watching
You know that He's not pleased For christians to buy a buncha junk
So Santa can get glory

Oh, you better wake up, you better face facts
Cause Jesus Christ wants His holiday back
Santa Clause is an idol God

How would you feel if you sent your son into the world to be beaten and bruised, to die for all humanity, but instead people reverance a fat man in a red suit. God is a jealous God and He will not share His glory. Think about it. People go out and spend ''beeep'' loads of money so their kids can say ''yay santa!''
Why not tell our kids that we are able to buy them nice things, because God has blessed us. Would the kids be any less happy if they knew that thier parents bought them the toys? .

Don't you see how society has become so brainwashed? People say''Oh my goodness! You dont do santa clause? What's wrong with you!?.. How dare you speak against santa clause!'' You see how santa clause has become an idol?

That's beside the point. I asked since when did Christ have a holiday. If you're just going to ignore my questions and rant at me, say so, and I won't reply again.

Like Joshua, we're supposed to take ground, not lose it.

Its a non-biblical holiday, rooted in paganism, and not even the true date of Christs birth. Which part of that is to be 'taken back'?

No one knows the exact day Jesus was born. I've heard that it could have been in april, or october, or june. In practical terms, if I were to find an abondoned child on the streets and took him in as my own child, what day would I celebrate the child's birthday? I would probably celebrate it on the day that I found the child, despite the fact that it's probably not his actual birth date. It might be inaccurate, but would it be wrong to do this?

Back to the birth of Jesus. There was a documentary on the star of Bethlehem, and to make a long story short, using the Bible as a guide combined with the technology of astronomy programs, it was discovered that the star stopped over the town of Bethlehem on December 25th. I believe (and this is mostly just my opinion) that that was the day the magi gave gifts to Jesus, and that's why we give gifts on Christmas.

Just to add to the confusion. Most churches that celebrate gift-giving in honor of the Wisemen do it Jan. 6. i did not know stars could stop over towns, according to our science.

One day, as a Christmas decoration, my wife took a portrait of the last supper, and made party hats for the disciples from Christmas paper, and in the center, she put a large, wrapped box, marked "Happy Birthday, Jesus", and a picture of a cake with candles on the table. Half her friends laughed, and half told her she was going to hell for it.

So don't be depressed; don't act forlorn
Just 'cause you don't know what day He was born.
Jesus Christ is coming today.

He arrives everyday, in things that we do,
Beginning again, with a new birth in you.
Jesus Christ is coming today.

He's waiting when you call Him,
He's ready if you are,
Just let His glory shine in you,
And be a Christmas star.

Wisemen still seek Him, you know that it's true,
So let them find His joy living in you.
Jesus Christ is coming today.

The documentary went over a lot of events that were seen in the sky. But the Bible records the star stopping over the town of Bethlehem, then the start turned back and went the other way. It was the planet Jupiter that did this. If you're interested, I could try and find that documentary.

Our astronomers believe that a star cannot stand still, since the earth is turning against the sky. Only a star over the north or south pole can appear to stand still, as it will spin in place, rather than move. Even if the Bible said it stood still, our astronomers do not believe that, so they could not have made a computer program to calculate when it happened.

The Bible does not say it stood still either. The Greek uses the word "histemi" (Strong's 2476), not "tithemi" (Strong's 5087) Tithemi is the word that would mean it stopped. Histemi means it indicated, or dwelt, and implies motion. It would be interesting to hear how they explain it, as this is not just a "star" in the scientific sense of a planet or sun from another solar system in the sky.

I have heard that this was a conjunction of 3 planets. Mercury and Venus do back up; perhaps that is what is meant.

Your inference is incorrect, I am merely informed.
So instantly rejecting and scoffing at something you know nothing about somehow makes you informed?

Astronomy programs are very accurate at projecting what's going on in the night sky.

Stood still is probably a bad choice of words on my part. And yes, Jupiter is not a "star" going by the modern definition.

Yeah, backing up is a better phrase to use. Although, if you really want to get technical, if you're accelerating in one direction, then switch to accelerate in the opposite direction, there is a point at which you are "stopped."

Astronomy does not allow for a star to come to a complete stop unless it is over one of the poles. The programs are accurate, but only on things which are allowed. There is no program to allow for a star standing still, so anyone who tells you they figured out by means of a program when it happened, is not telling you the truth. They had to have meant something else.

When planets retrograde, they appear to move in a little bit of a flattened circle, like a car making a u-turn; any "stop" is a technical one (derivative = 0 at a relative maximum is the technical term), and occurs only on the axis of forward motion, the movement shifting to the perpendicular for a short time. If they were able to determine the correct planets or comets, it is possible that what we are talking about is a simultaneous retrograde of three such objects. That would be unique indeed. Then we would know the exact date of the Wise Men. However, how could we be certain we know the correct planets? A comet might have been involved that needs to be allowed for, for example.

JESUS CHRIST is every day, not once a week, nor once a year. December 25th is the most unholy day of the year! It's all about self, and the world worships self 364 days of the year, then they take off a day to celebrate je$u$! We are currently in a Babylonian system, based on ''let us make us a name'' or ''let us make us a je$u$''. These heathen lie to there children, and tell them that Satan Clause comes to give them gifts. They have these children bowing to the tree to get the riches of this world. X-mass, ishtar, and halloween is all the same thing, it's paganism! The Bible speaks against this! This is Baal, and they are cannibaals! December 25th is the worship of sin, do research! That tree is a representation of a sexual body part, it is the tree in the garden!

Are you ignoring the part that I said Jupiter?

At this point, we're really just arguing semantics over the phrases stop and stood still, and for no apparent reason.

The documentary addresses the comet idea. From a biblical standpoint, a comet doesn't make sense here. For one, comets aren't going to "stop" (and I'm just using the word stop here for simplicity of avoiding a 2 paragraph explaination of what is meant by the word stop). Also, the ancient people knew the night sky very well, better than what we do. They didn't have TV or text messaging or internet, so what would they do? They would study the night sky. This wasn't their first time looking up at the stars and being completely clueless about it. Why is this important? King Herod and his counsel were completely unaware of what the wise men meant when the wise men said they saw the signs in the sky. If it was a comet or meteor shower or something obvious like that, everyone would be talking about it, and King Herod would have already been aware of such an event. A comet simply doesn't fit the descriptions.

Here's a link to the documentary, the first part anyways.
