Hi everyone. I know in the past I've read many profiles of those who said they enjoy writing poems, christian themed or otherwise. I do as well occassionally so I was thinking this would be a great place to share them with others...all in good taste of course. I'll go first and would love to read some from others.
My poem is called Silly Math. I had written it to give to my wife after she gave birth to our second child in March of 2002.

SILLY MATH

Alone I walked, without a fuss.
Good times and bad times,
Just the two of us.

Alone, that was, till you found me.
Fell in love, got married
And we became three.

Two years went by and we wanted more.
Kendall Rae was born
And we became four.

And now to the hospital once again we'll drive.
Welcome, Grant Joseph!
Now we are five.

"Whoa!"
"Wait a minute!" you say, "Your numbers don't jive."
"Don't you mean four",
"When you had said five?"

Now hold on a sec.
Before any judgement is passed,
Let me explain
My silly math.

What you think as three, is actually four,
'Cause whatever you number,
Just add one more.

No matter what happens in this wonderful life.
The One who'll be there
Is Jesus Christ.

Many things may change from January to December,
But it's His love, unchanging,
That endures forever.

Hope you guys enjoyed it. I've got more I'll share eventually, but would really love to hear from all of you!

I just might do that, Abing.....but right now, I don't have much of a clue as to what I'm doing. I've posted before at faithforum so I at least know how to do that but my knowledge of it is very basic. But one day soon I'll take the time to look into that....if it hasn't been done already. Take care, Abing.

hey y'all...this isn't necessarily a christian themed poem but i figured i would share it with you guys...i wrote it my senior year of high school

Dreams

Silhouttes dance on the wall,
A solitary light
Flickers in the hall.
whispers fill the air
although I know
theres no one here.
this place seems so crowded, so full
but at the same time
so empty and so cold.
I cry out for help
but to no avail
as I know no one can hear.
I frantically search
endlessly search.
knowing not
what im trying to find.
amidst being confused and blind
I finally open my eyes,
Escaping from my mind.

let me know what yall think!!

here's another of my poems for you guys...this one was written in high school for my best friend who moved away at the end of the school year...
Friendship Missed

I was always a person
That didn't love others;
Never cared about friendship,
Never let anybody get close.

But then one day, I found out
To my dismay I had a friend.

But one regret
I'll never repress;
I was too blind to love
A friend departing.
Maybe someday, I don't know when,
I'll be able To love again.
