I will give a story if that counts.
There was a child who tends to not smile so often. Not necessarily because they were depressed, it just wasn't in their nature unless it was a genuine smile. It attracted a handful of random people to tell them that they needed to smile and it annoyed the child when ironic jokes were made about this. There was however one particular event where it took place at a soup kitchen for this child to volunteer at and a man who was bound in a wheelchair with no legs goes up to them and says 'Smile, things could always be worse' with a huge grin on his face and then he left. To this day, that child wishes that they took this man's advice.
Bottom line... Smile at any given opportunity until there's a reason you truly can't anymore.
