When I first moved to Seattle, I stayed in a motel with a courtyard with trees, shrubs and a lawn. Wild rabbits would hang out in the yard, and I enjoyed watching them from my window. Sometimes they would sit on a mound right outside the window a few feet away and groom themselves. It was peaceful and relaxing in a hectic, stressed out city. Although the rabbits would take a moment to relax, they were always on guard, ready to dart off at full-speed, although the only threat was probably a few cats that could probably never catch them. They would watch, as cats do, with me watching the scene out the window. If the cats got too close, I'd let the rabbits know, but, a cat is no match for a full-grown rabbit. Unfortunately, when I was a kid, we would keep the rabbits in cages, not knowing any better. God's critters should not be in cages-- especially not birds. I grew up in a cage, and it didn't work so well for me either...
