I just thought of a joke.

You spend almost one whole year, choosing the 2 candidates and then
finally choosing one of them, only to give them an impossible job to do.
some rediculous people to deal with, and the guarantee 50% of the people
will hate them.

Have you ever thought that actually it is all done to distract you into believing
they matter, while the real people who hold power do whatever they like...lol

I see no joke there. It seems that's exactly what happens. The POTUS is nothing more than a figurehead. The real power in is hidden rooms where the public never gets to hear what's said or has input to what happens.

Ever watch scandle. What makes me pragmatic is whatever system you have
it is what goes on in their hearts that makes the difference, and there are always
some good people around.

The senate or congress stop them. The bluff and bluster, compromise and
a slight vague change occurs, the president then looks for something to leave

The next decades people say how terrible they are, and then finally, they
did that great one sentence ...........

So why do you guys get so het up about it. They are just going to muck it
up just like the previous ........ times

Out of all the above sending a man to the moon with JFK is the most memorable
to me. Reagan and the end of the cold war, stunning. The rest seems minor or bad.
