It should be against the rules to ridicule lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgendered people.

I have seen horrible things be said about gays on this forum. Things such as:
- "Homosexuals have rejected God's design for their own lives and humanity and are in rebellion to it."

- "The false God of sodomites is the Antichrist himself ! "

- "Its just militant homosexuals actively continuing the campaign to destroy ..."

- "There is no such thing as a gay person. There are people who practice homosexuality."

- "The homosexual agenda is a strong one, but perverts usually are serious about their addictions."

- "The problem here is that homosexuals come to CC and malign scripture to justify their sin rather than repenting from their sin and admitting they struggle with a sex sin issue in their life."

- "If you are banned from this discussion, it would be for maligning God's Word to support your false assertion that homosexuality is God's design for humanity. This is a Christian forum not a homosexual one. We are not deceived as you are on this point."

- "The sodomite mafia are a ruthless bloodthirsty plague ..."

You guys may not realize it, but when things are said such as this, is seriously hurts us to the bone.

We have already had family members reject is, not accept us, make our life hell for us, kicked us out of our houses, disowned us... Can't we just have some sort of safe refuge here on CC where we can be loved unconditionally?

Are you saying Christians should support and promote same sex marriage?

I'm saying that people need to stop calling us "wicked sodomites" and saying very profane things about us. On one thread there were people acting as if gays = pedophiles. It's not okay to act that way towards our same-sex attracted brothers and sisters.

Do you think same sex marriage is Gods will?

Toast I agree with you, while I do not support the gay life style I treat them with the same love and care as I would any other person. The ones who bash the gays should be ignored. we christians are called to love others not bash them because we do not agree with their life style. Some call it righteous judgment but there is nothing righteous about it. I am sorry you had to face that here, this is the one place you should not have to see this

Yes, I do. But I don't want to force that belief upon others. I just want this to be a safer place for LGBT people, where we don't have to worry about prejudice and being "out" to friends.

This is something I have come upon in conversations with several times lately. The idea that a person must accept and allow your views but not express their own.
Being open minded and loving doesn't mean accepting. I can be open minded and receptive of someones views, and not agree with them at all.
You are in fact attempting to force people to believe what you believe by shelving their own beliefs. Wether you can come to terms with that or not is up to you.

Is it hateful to say that gay marriage is against Gods will?

Is it prejudice to say that gay sexual relations is sin? Does saying such make CC an unsafe place for lgbt?

I'm okay with someone saying "I believe that having gay sex is a sin" or "I believe you can only get married to the opposite sex", but when it gets to calling a minority names and saying messed up stuff about the people, it starts to get far out of hand.

As for bottling up opinions, I guess you could consider it an opinion if someone thinks a group of people deserved to be called names, but I would compare "Sodomites are abominable people" to "N-worders are abominable people" (by n-word I mean a derogatory word used to describe black people). See?

No. It's hateful to say that the state of being attracted to the same sex is sin.

It is sin. God said so. What's that got to do with hate? Sin is that which is destructive to the individual and to others. Having sex as homosexuals have sex is filthy. Literally. It causes disease, mentally and physically. What's this got to do with hate? Nothing. It's just a fact.

Where in the Bible does God say it is a sin to be involuntarily attracted to the same sex?

No. It's hateful to say that gay persons are contrary to God's will for being gay.
Here is God's will. The word of God tells you what God's will is.

Leviticus 18:22 Thou shalt not lie with mankind, as with womankind: it is abomination.

Romans 1:26 For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature: 27 And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet.

Again, the will of God concerning homosexuality is clearly stated in the scriptures. If you don't believe them, then pick another religion. But don't try to say God approves of homosexuality, because that's a direct contradiction of scriptures.

We've got a few crazies like the WestBoro Baptist group but most of us don't hate gay people. Calling homosexuality immoral behavior isn't hate. Stealing is immoral, but I don't hate thieves either.

Being gay is the state of having an attraction to the same sex. These are talking about same sex acts. So yes, saying that I am a sinner for being gay is hateful.
