When you come into His presence
Lifting up the name of Jesus
And you hear the music playin'
And you see the people praisin'
Just forget about your worries
Let your troubles fall behind you
Don't you wait another minute
Just get up and on your feet and

Get to dancing
Singing jumping leaping
Get to shouting
Make it loud and make it glorious
Start rejoicing praising lifting raising
Get to shouting
Make it loud and make His praise

Get to dancing
Singing jumping leaping
Get to shouting
Make it loud and make it glorious

YouTube - Donnie McClurkin - Victory Chant (Hail Jesus)

Hail Jesus! You're my King!
Your life frees me to sing
I will praise You all my days
You're perfect in all Your ways

Hail Jesus! You're my Lord!
I will obey Your word
Because I want to see
Your kingdom come
Not my will by Yours be done

Glory, glory to the Lamb!
You will take us into the land
We will conquer in Your name
And proclaim that "Jesus reigns!"

Hail, hail Lion of Judah!
How wonderful You are!
Hail, hail Lion of Judah!
How powerful You are!

Hail Jesus! You're my King!
Your life frees me to sing
I will praise You all my days
You're perfect in all Your ways

Glory, glory to the Lamb!
You will take us into the land
We will conquer in Your name
And proclaim that "Jesus reigns!

Hail, hail Lion of Judah!
How wonderful You are!
Hail, hail Lion of Judah!
How powerful You are!

He's the Lion in the tribe of Judah
He's the root and the Offspring of David
He's the Lily of the Valley
He's the Bright and the Morning Star

Hail, hail Lion of Judah!
How wonderful You are!
Hail, hail Lion of Judah!
How powerful You are!

The Lion of Judah shall break every chain
and give to us, oh my,
the victory again and again
The Lion of Judah
shall break every chain and give to us,
the victory again and again[/quote]

Approach, My Soul, The Mercy Seat

Approach, my soul, the Mercy Seat
Where Jesus answers prayer
There humbly fall before His feet
For none can perish there

Thy promise is my only plea
With this I venture nigh
Thou callest burdened souls to Thee
And such, O Lord, Am I

Bowed down beneath a load of sin
By Satan sorely pressed
By war without and fears within
I come to Thee for rest

Be Thou my shield and hiding place
That, sheltered by Thy side
I may my fierce accuser face
And tell him Thou hast died

O wondrous love, to bleed and die
To bear the cross and shame
That guilty sinners, such as I
Might plead Thy gracious Name

Poor tempest-tossed soul, be still
My promised grace receive
Tis Jesus speaks - I must, I will
I can, I do believe

"If men did but know Jesus, they would crown Him with diadems of reverent love, more precious than the pearls of India, for His reign will usher in the golden age, and even now it softens the rigor of the present, as it has removed the miseries of the past."
- Charles Spurgeon, from the Sermon "The Crown of Thorns"

"There is nothing which is so urgently and immediately wanted by sinful men, nothing which strikes so deep into the heart, which answers so completely to its need, and binds it so irrevocably and with such a sense of obligation to God, as the atoning death of Jesus. Implicit or explicit, it is the Alpha and Omega of Christian preaching."
- James Denney, The Death of Christ, Chapter 6, pg 140

"When you were dead in your sins and in the uncircumcision of your sinful nature, God made you alive with Christ. He forgave us all our sins, having canceled the charge of our legal indebtedness, which stood against us and condemned us; he has taken it away, nailing it to the cross."
- Colossians 2:13-14

Come Close To The Savior

Come close to the Savior, thy loving Redeemer
O sorrowing heart oppressed
Life's journey is dreary, thy spirit is weary
O come unto Him and rest
Come close to the Savior, O why dost thou linger
He knoweth thy heart oppressed
His promise believing, His message receiving
O come unto Him and rest

Come close to the Savior, He calleth thee gently
Draw near to thy Father's throne
His eyes will behold thee, His mercy enfold thee
Why carry thy grief alone
Come close to the Savior, O trust and remember
Through trials our souls are blest
Whatever betide thee, thy Refuge will hide thee
O come unto Him and rest

Come close to the Savior, earth's pleasures are fleeting
But Jesus will care for thee
Whatever may grieve thee, He will never leave thee
Thy strength as thy day shall be
Come close to the Savior, O come as a birdling
Flies back to its parent nest
Where peace like a river, flows onward forever
O come unto Him and rest

By Fanny Crosby

"Our Lord has given a blessed rest to those who trust Him, and follow Him. They are often unable to inform others as to their deep peace and the reasons upon which it is founded; but they know it, and it brings them inward wealth compared with which the fortune of an ungodly millionaire is poverty itself."
- Charles Spurgeon, from the sermon "I WIll Give You Rest"

"Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest."
- Matthew 11:28

I was serving in the military in a place called 29 Palms, California in an area known as the Delta Corridor. We were living in tents and training everyday. Being stationed in the middle of the desert is tough but very rewarding, and the scenery in the evening and at night is breath-taking. Yet the desert can also be a very unforgiving place. One day the winds picked up and they simply wouldn't stop. For three days we endured a sandstorm with average wind speeds of 90mph. Any unprotected skin hit by sand would sting so badly it could drop you to your knees, and the sound of the wind was so loud it sounded like a never-ending freight train.

It was about noon on the third day of this storm and I was in the mess hall, a huge tent used as our cafeteria that could fit about 200 people. I was sitting on the ground in the corner of the tent by myself trying to eat lunch. Even inside the tent the wind was relentless; it was so loud people sitting right next to each other had to scream in order to hear one another. Wind, noise, dust, the tent flapping -- three days man, it really stunk. Finally I said a prayer. I told God that the wind was unbearable and pleaded with Him to settle the winds down, ever for just 15 minutes so I can have a moment's peace.

No sooner did I pray that the wind had utterly stopped. I was engulfed in a sanctuary of peace and my heart rejoiced! I thanked God for answering my prayer, then something occurred to me, I looked around at everyone else inside the tent and the wind was still very much whipping around them continuing to cause all sorts of havoc. I couldn't believe it! The wind only stopped around me. Then I thought, I know, a large military vehicle must have just parked behind me on the other side of the tent acting as a barrier and that is why the wind had stopped around me. I had to look, but before I did, I told God that it didn't matter if that was really the case, it would not have been a coincidence but rather it would just have been the way God stopped the wind for me at that moment. So I got up and looked outside, and friends, there was no vehicle there; there was nothing there to impede the wind from smacking me around like it had been up until the moment I prayed and the way it continued to smack everyone else around. I fell to my knees, my heart rejoiced and I magnified the name of the Lord for granting me the peace I desperately needed at that moment. I sat in the very real presence and protection of Jesus Christ our Lord, Commander of the winds, while right before my eyes and in my very midst everyone else continued to struggle with the elements.

It was then that I fully realized like never before that Jesus is always with us, and if we ask Him, He will draw closer to us in many different, wonderful ways. Since then I ask the Lord to bless me with His very real presence everyday of my life. I fall short of His amazing glory everyday, yet I know He is with me, and He is with everyone who invites Him into their lives. Thank you Jesus!

"The unique aspect of Christ's Priesthood is that He is not only Priest but victim - not only the subject of the work of intercession, but the means of it, too. He not only presents an offering, He becomes an offering, and He thereby deals with men for God and with God for men."
- Eric J. Alexander, John Calvin - A Heart For Devotion, Doctrine & Doxology, Chapter 9, pg 113

"Our Savior prayed for persons who did not deserve the prayer, but, on the contrary, merited a curse - persons who did not ask for the prayer, and even scoffed at it when they heard it. Even so in Heaven there stands the great High Priest, who pleads for guilty men... There are none on earth that deserve His intercession. He pleads for none on the supposition that they do deserve it. He stands there to plead as the just One on the behalf of the unjust."
- Charles Spurgeon, from the sermon "The First Cry From The Cross"

"Great, indeed, was the condescension of the all-powerful God in being willing to treat with our High Priest rather in the way of covenant, than by a display of his authority. And strong were the pious affections of our High Priest, who did not refuse to take upon himself, on our account, the discharge of those difficult and arduous duties which were full of pain, trouble, and misery. Most glorious act, performed by thee, O Christ, who art infinite in goodness! Thou great High Priest, accept of the honors due to thy pious affection, and continue in that way to proceed to glory, to the complete consecration of our salvation."
- James Arminius, The Works of James Arminius, Volume 1, Oration IV

"He bore the sin of many, and made intercession for the transgressors."
- Isaiah 53:12

"When we go to Christ for healing, faith eyes Him peculiarly as one pierced."
- John Owen, The Mortification of Sin, Chapter 13, pg 148

"Your hope that you are pardoned lies in this, that Jesus died for you. Those dear wounds of His bleed life for you."
- Charles Spurgeon, from the sermon "Christ's Plea For Ignorant Sinners"

- William Brown, The Tabernacle, Chapter 20, pg 133

"Lord, Save Us"

Pilot of the soul, awake
Save us for Thy mercy's sake
Now rebuke the angry deep
Save, oh, save Thy sinking ship

Stand at the helm, our vessel steer
Mighty on our side appear
Savior, teach us to decry
Where the rocks and quicksands lie

The waves shall impotently roll
If Thou art the anchor of the soul
At Thy word the wind shall cease
Storms be hushed to perfect peace

Be Thou our haven of retreat
A rock to fix our wavering feet
Teach us to own Thy sovereign sway
Whom the winds and seas obey

By Augustus Toplady

"He commands even the winds and the water, and they obey him."

Here is a brief sermon-excerpt video in which preacher Francis Chan explains how we need to not only love and admire Jesus, but we are also called to emulate Him in our character and lives.

Francis Chan - Jesus More Than a Savior - YouTube

"As a painter looking at a face draws a face like it in the picture, so looking at Christ in the mirror of the gospel, we are changed into his similitude... This is the excellence of divine knowledge, that it gives us such a sight of Christ as to make us partake of his nature."
- Thomas Watson, The Godly Man's Picture, pg 23

"God knew his people in advance, and he chose them to become like his Son."

"Sin had so shut up the womb of mercy that had not Christ made an atonement by death it could never have brought forth one mercy to all eternity for us... Whatever good we receive from the hand of Providence, we must put it upon the score of Christ's blood; and when we receive it, we may say, it is the price of blood; it is a mercy rising up out of the death of Christ; it cost Him dear though it come to me freely; it is sweet in the possession but costly in the acquisition."
- John Flavel, The Mystery of Providence, Chapter 10, pg 161

"That the blood of Christ was shed to buy our soul from death and Hell, is a wonder of compassion which fills angels with amazement, and it ought to overwhelm us with adoring love whenever we think of it."
- Charles Spurgeon, from the sermon "Bought With A Price"

"You were bought at a price."
- 1 Corinthians 7:23

"The four living creatures and the twenty-four elders fell down before the Lamb... And they sang a new song, saying, You are worthy to take the scroll and to open its seals, because you were slain, and with your blood you purchased for God persons from every tribe and language and people and nation."
- Revelation 5:9

My Song Shall Be Of Jesus

My song shall be of Jesus
His mercy crowns my days
He fills my cup with blessings
And tunes my heart to praise

My song shall be of Jesus
The precious Lamb of God
Who gave Himself my ransom
And bought me with His blood

My song shall be of Jesus
When, sitting at His feet
I call to mind His goodness
In meditation sweet

My song shall be of Jesus
Whatever ill betide
I'll sing the grace that saves me
And keeps me at His side

My song shall be of Jesus
While pressing on my way
To reach the blissful region
Of pure and perfect day

And when my soul shall enter
The gate of Eden fair
A song of praise to Jesus
I'll sing forever there

By Fanny Crosby

"Let a part of our private and public devotion be ever dedicated to the praise of Jesus; when we shall break forth into some hymn, or psalm, or spiritual song, singing and praising Christ with angels and archangels and all the hosts of the redeemed. On that brow, once thorn-crowned, let us entwine our laurels. Upon that ear, once familiarized with threats and scorn, let us pour the fullness of our adoring devotion."
- F.B. Meyer, The Way Into The Holiest, Chapter 2, pg 15

"The Lord is my strength and my song, and has become my salvation."
- Exodus 15:2

The Atonement of Christ

How is our nature spoiled by sin
Yet nature never hath found
The way to make the conscience clean
Or heal the painful wound

In vain we seek for peace with God
By methods of our own
Jesus, there's nothing but thy blood
Can bring us near the throne

The threatenings of thy broken law
Impress our souls with dread
If God his sword of vengeance draw
It strikes our spirits dead

But thine illustrious sacrifice
Hath answered these demands
And peace and pardon from the skies
Came down by Jesus' hands

Here all the ancient types agree
The altar and the lamb
And prophets in their visions see
Salvation through his name

Tis by thy death we live, O Lord
Tis on thy cross we rest
Forever be thy love adored
Thy name forever blessed

By Isaac Watts

"If we are to preach the Atonement, we cannot allow either history or philosophy to proceed on assumptions which ignore or degrade the fact of Christ. Only a person in whom the eternal has become historical can be the bearer of the Atonement, and it must be our first concern to show, against all assumptions whether made in the name of history or philosophy, that in point of fact there is such a person here."
- James Denney, The Death of Christ, Chapter 7, pg 163

"God presented Christ as a sacrifice of atonement, through the shedding of his blood."

Colossians 1:15-23

The Supremacy of the Son of God

"The Son is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation. For in him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things have been created through him and for him. He is before all things, and in him all things hold together. And he is the head of the body, the church; he is the beginning and the firstborn from among the dead, so that in everything he might have the supremacy. For God was pleased to have all his fullness dwell in him, and through him to reconcile to himself all things, whether things on earth or things in heaven, by making peace through his blood, shed on the cross.

Once you were alienated from God and were enemies in your minds because ofyour evil behavior. But now he has reconciled you by Christ’s physical body through death to present you holy in his sight, without blemish and free from accusation— if you continue in your faith, established and firm, and do not move from the hope held out in the gospel. This is the gospel that you heard and that has been proclaimed to every creature under heaven, and of which I, Paul, have become a servant."
I like the book---A walk with Abraham---Jesus thanks you----Huldah
