My family was one of the first to get a colored TV. “Bonanza” was one of the first color TV shows.

We didn't always have a tv growing up, but we did have a black and white one for a while. Sometimes the screen would go all gray and you had to bang on the sides to make it back to normal. That arrangement worked out just fine until one day when i banged a little too hard and the thing blew up in my face. Surprisingly, my parents weren't too mad.

I think it still happens sometimes. We usually get the kind that stay on even though one goes out.

Correct! Most christmas tree lights were connected in series, so if one lamp dies, the electrical circuit is broken, and they all stop working.

I also know a modem converts digital (computer data) to analogous signals (phone data)

uhm, no. Only that the foundation must be adapted to the soil and that there are rules about the thickness of the insulation, - and height of the house if there are other houses nearby
