Personal message how close you are to New Mexico state border? As we have both been to CA already...... but if you were close enough maybe a possibility of a swing by coffee run.....
Over two hours, possibly about 3 hours, depending on traffic.

I love NY! I don't like NYC at all, but I've been to a couple other parts of the state and think its beautiful.

Two years ago I was driving west to Kansas City to see the Royals, but due to bad weather I reluctantly turned north and ended up in Milwaukee to see the Brewers. I really had no interest but I was already on the road. Turns out God knows my heart and knew I would absolutely love it! It was my first time in Wisconsin and I fell in love with it and I can't wait to go back. God willing, I'll be up there again this Summer to see another game, but first, I'll be stopping in Pittsburgh and Detroit to see the Pirates and Tigers.

Other than that, I'm 30 miles from New York City and my arms to coffee and prayer are always open! :)

Haha I loved that campaign! :D It did come to mind when I posted that too. When I was a kid we went camping in the adirondacks. Loved it!! :) Also been to niagara at night when they had the colorful lights that light up the falls. :)

It will probably have to wait till after you return from your gallivanting. Sue has it in her head that she wants to put a new roof on the house without dipping into our savings, so she is back in the school system, doing some reading testing for FSU. (Proves a Gator will do anything for money.) Until the school year is over, she really isn't too keen on doing much more than vedging at home after doing battle with Kindergarten, 1st and 2nd graders, and the parents too all day.

In addition, I think she is a bit leery of the idea of being in a situation where she already feels she would have nothing in common. She doesn't read all the posts here... she just knows how close SDA is to the CoC we left, and she has a whole lifetime of less-than-thrilling memories of those days. But I think that will change once school is out.

I told ya gonna have to wait until we do the Vermont round......all those other states are mostly north and west..... trying to knock out the majority of them and then pick up the stragglers.... I already been to Hawaii but will have to return as tourist has not been there then Alaska is the final frontier.....or sooner if I do a cruise.....

How will you be getting from New Mexico to Arkansas without going through Texas!? ...unless of course you'd be going through the panhandle of Oklahoma.

I'm originally from Philadelphia and am quite partial to the East coast, especially the Pennsylvania rivers and mountains and the Jersey seashore. I've been through about half of the states and loved the desert in Utah & Nevada! Also Oregon and Washington were beautiful places to see, for sure. Moving here to Texas took some getting used to with its hot, dry weather and cowboy attire. But the people here are some of the nicest, sweetest folks I've ever met.

When you guys are ready just say the word.....the only thing your wife has to worry about is I might like to say grace for the meal other than that she is safe and I don't bite....other than the food....I will bite into that....Jesus job to save mine to love.....

PS we have lots in common we're all human right? Or are you Aliens?

Oh, usually most people think us a little strange because we pray at meals... wherever we are. (Very rare exceptions... usually when we feel it would serve no purpose but to make people think we are putting them down... in some of those cases we just look at one another, and know that we are thanking God.)

We meet a Universalist Unitarian couple that we have gotten to know at Hardee's every Sunday after church. They just sit and watch their plates while we pray. We keep it short. I still don't really know what they think God is, but two weeks ago, the woman consented to let my wife pray for her back pain, right there in the restaurant. The husband said, "If it works, I'll let you pray for my legs." We didn't push any explanation... just, basically, said, "OK."

They still think it is weird that I once told them that at our church, most people worship with their eyes closed, and pray with their eyes open. LOL Although I don't think they really care... their services sound like a Rotarian meeting. They relate that they often have people come in to talk about investing in the stock market, or about retirement strategies.

The thing about my wife is that we almost never have a conversation with anyone that does not soon turn to God, and I think she is resisting dealing with where "differences" can lead in that vein.
