What a load of bunk! Of course, not eating meat was God's original plan in Eden. But post-Flood (in a post-Fall world) He gifted us with animals to eat. It's your opinion that God wasn't endorsing the eating of meat and that Jesus would eat meat only to satisfy the people around Him is frankly insulting and not something Jesus would do. He wasn't here on earth to people-please. You and I know that. Then you take the 'life is in the blood' verses out of context and talk some nonsense about mankind becoming more aggressive after partaking in eating meat. Don't you remember the state of the pre-Flood world? It was as bad and evil and violent as it could get. And vegans, oh, boy. I don't care what you people eat. But the way many vegans treat non-vegans is downright deplorable. And that comes from a worldview that animals are as valued as people. They're not. I'm all for respecting God's creation, but I will do that while eating meat.
God commanded His own priest to eat meat as part of temple service ...he commanded the Hebrews to eat the Lamb before they left Egypt ....

To impress upon the people the grave consequences of sin. He also gave his son the mission to die a horrible death for us. So that means he was okay with it?

[SUP]11 [/SUP]In the six hundredth year of Noah's life, in the second month, on the seventeenth day of the month, on that day all the fountains of the great deep burst forth, and the windows of the heavens were opened. [SUP]12 [/SUP]And rain fell upon the earth forty days and forty nights.
The idea that God doesn't want us to kill animals for food is simply absurd.

Remember "Rise, Peter, kill and eat..." ?? And yes, I know that it was an illustration, but if eating animals was not ok with God, don't you think He'd have used a different illustration?

I mean, come on... (said in my best sarcastic, whiny voice)

You have an interesting way of reading the Bible to make it say what you want it to say.

In a sense of salvation, which is what this verse is about, it is irrelevant. From the standpoint of health, and trying to honor God's creation as best we can or know how, it has much relevance.

How can God endorse the whole sale continuous murder of his own creation? What do you love? Your children? Artwork you may do? Whatever it is, would you condone the destruction of them or it on a perpetual basis?
Don't you know our God's nature?
Are you being serious here? I'm sorry but this is one of the silliest posts I have read...LOL

No... to represent Christ in this symbolic act ...and of course He is more than "ok" with it and the New Testament makes that absolutely clear.

The whole reason certain animals were even created is for food. You don't have to eat them. No one is forcing you to.

But I do. They are delicious.

Could you imagine going your whole life without sausage or jerky? Or bacon?

Thank you, vegetarians and vegans for leaving more for me. I appreciate it. In return I will leave your salads alone, mostly. But not avocado. Because they are delicious too.

Good stewardship is a different matter. I can understand people getting upset and protesting inhumane treatment of our food stock. In fact, the whole mad cow disease outbreak was pretty much completely preventable, and even after thousands of animals had to be destroyed, and many people died (probably horrible deaths) from consuming beef infected with bovine spongiform encephalopathy, farmers still fed the herbivore cattle disease tainted sheep meat. It really is disgusting how some animals are treated, but the market allows for us to spend our money in ways that reflect our values, most of the time. I say most of the time because we still do not have mandatory labeling of GMO foods. Our government prevents it because they have sold out to evil corp. :p Franken foods makers are probably afraid that if we knew what was and what was not tinkered with, we might go for the non tinkered stuff. Thankfully, organics are not tinkered with, and other manufacturers have a conscious and are starting to label when it is non GMO. Still, a lot of people just don't seem to care, or can't afford to eat in ways that are conscientiously unobjectionable. Money is the bottom line in many equations.

Here ares some simple and hopefully self evident reasons that some in the body of Christ can understand and consider regarding why our creator designed our bodies to eat plant based foods. Hopefully once you'll read this, you'll come to comprehend that the designer has a very specific design for our bodies. As with any higher intelligence, the design becomes more sophisticated as the understanding and knowledge increases.

--Humans have 32 teeth, most carnivores have 46 or even more.
--Most carnivores have mouths that are hinged to tear and maul, unlike plant eaters.
--Carnivores have 20 times the secretion of hydrochloric acid then humans (to digest meat).
--Carnivores have teeth that are shaped different then herbivores because the design is intended to tear and masticate flesh.
--Many carnivores have sharp claws for hunting and tearing flesh. Plant eaters don't.
--Humans have 30 feet of intestines as opposed to most carnivores who are around our size; they have about 3 feet. That is important to note because their digestive tracts with the increased secretion of HCL and its much smaller length implies a design for flesh, As opposed to humans, whose length of digestive tract and lower secretion of HCl suggests a diet of plant based foods.
This is also important because the flesh product tends to stall in a humans digestive tract and ROT. Why is this paramount? Because the rotting causes waste gases in our bodies. Methane gas, carbon dioxide, and so on. These gases tend to mutate cells, which greatly increase the chances of cancer. Why, well firstly, they increase inflammation, which compromises the immune system. The gases also increase insulin secretion which kicks in the IGF-1 AND IGF 2 response, which also greatly increases the chances of cancer.
Besides a increased risk of cancer, these gases, caused in large part from the rotting animal meat sitting in your stomach for 3 to 8 hours causes bloating. If you like that feeling, then animal meat is for you.
Lastly, even before the onset of cancer, these reactions in the stomach cause a whole host of other issues due to the increase inflammation, and oxidation in the body, and due also to lowered PH levels, lower oxygen levels, lower systemic hydration levels, and lower phytochemicals.
Not to mention tying into the oxidative fermentative respiration anerobic response on a cellular level, plus the compromise of the way our electrons and protons and neutrons interact with each other in our body as far as doantions and interactions with cell health and regeneration.
Flesh products cause all of these negative effects on the body.
This is all science. Go ahead and refute it.

If you have even a glimmer of understanding of this, then you'll see why God made a concession when He talked about eating the flesh of another being, God knew it was not the way he designed us.
Some of you treat your cars better then your bodies.

My suggestion: if your going to eat any type of animal flesh, limit it to 2 times a week. Boil, crock cook it or steam it. Don't fry it, BBQ it, microwave it or broil it. You'll cause yet another negative perverse chemical reaction to the body if you do. Eat plenty of raw salads, steamed veggies, a smattering of grains, some nuts, and beans, and you'll be fine.
Soak your grains for about 4 hours in water before you steam them. This washes away the phytic acid which is a mineral blocker in the body. Try not to mix proteins and grains in the same meal. Its very hard on digestion.
You don't need to eat 100% vegan if you do that.
Every day eat live foods like fruits and lightly steamed veggies and sprouts.
Just make sure to eat organic meat. Nothing with anti biotics, hormones, or steroids, or from an animal that has been grain feed. And absolutely stay away from all highly processed foods.
Leave a margin of error of no more then 10%. That means if your going to cheat, only one in 10 meals for cake, or cookies, or diary ice cream, etc.Or once about every 3 days.
Don't eat past 7 o'clock at night.

If you do all that, you'll live a healthy life, feel good, and live long. Even with animal food about twice a week.

There's nothing wrong with being a vegan. Many people beleive that Christians are snobs and think that they're better than everyone else, when, in reality, most of us don't. Yes there are some crazy save the animals vegans, but a lot of vegans eat the way that they do because of the low quality of meat and dairy products these days. The Bible also tells us to eat wheat, but not GMO wheat sprayed with roundup (Which is why I don't eat gluten). Also, milk back in Bible days was most certainly raw milk, which is certainly much more nutritious that our pasturized, antibiotic and hormone filled these days. In Bible times everything was 100% organic, so the quality of our food today is not even close to the same.

... But I'm willing to bet that you know a nice, quiet person who just happens to be a vegetarian and you'd never know it. Be careful not to hate on vegetarians as a whole or lump all of them together with militant vegans, because that's probably the reason they stay so quiet about their diet: they don't want to be associated with militant vegans.
Go on now, Pop. :)

Black Op Vegans.
Sounds cooler.
