War and rumors of war.

We hear every opinion by every arm chair politician and keyboard warrior but we must always weigh the power of the tongue. The power of the word.

Great sermons during the Reformation created a generation who saw rebellion to tyrants as obedience to God.

The writings of Thomas Paine in Common Sense among many planted the seeds of Revolution.

The pamplets called The Federalist Papers gave way to the ratification of the Constitution.

A writing from a former slave in Uncle Toms Cabin greatly affected the abolition movement.

A word can sway the tides of change, the seasons of action, or to expose blissful deception. It is easy to write or speak a word but are we willing to risk the results? Some events risks losing one's life, liberty or way of life. Some require the participation of all if we like it or not.

“I wish it need not have happened in my time," said Frodo.
"So do I," said Gandalf, "and so do all who live to see such times. But that is not for them to decide. All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given us.
J.R.R. Tolkien, The Fellowship of the Ring

We must weigh our words as if the fate of mankind depended on the action of such words. The fate of our children and fellow countrymen or the fate of future generations who will reap what we sow.

The "wars and rumors of wars" Jesus spoke of to His disciples were those that would occur in THEIR lifetime and not in ours. WE are NOT the YE of Matthew 24 (cf. Mark 13 and Luke 21).

But yet the tribulation has not began so it still holds to be true that war is only the birth pains before the tribulation judgements.
