I remember back when I was a kid, hardwood floor was what poor people had. Rich people had wall to wall carpet, which was what everybody else dreamed of having.

Now wall to wall carpet is what poor people have, while rich people are making everybody else jealous by getting hardwood floors.
Old worn carpet is what poorer people might have. But if it is new and well kept, it is quite nice. In my son’s house there is new carpet in the living room and I found myself down on the floor playing with the grandkids, something I would not do on hard floors.

In our old 60’s ranch, the first thing we did was rip out the very ugly carpet. Being in the country with kids and pets, carpet would not work very well. We have old worn maple flooring that I refinished about 20 years ago.

Pancakes, some music, and church. Then later a Gospel Jam at church where I join in strumming a few chords. Then a dinner with friends from church.

Spent all day yesterday digging out for a sump pump in a crawl space filled with wet red clay with my son. It was sort of like digging an escape tunnel in a POW camp! But got it done.

This is a thread about what you are up to today or recently. It can be a bible verse. It can be the old car you are trying to fix. Or the weather. Or your grandkids. Or an illness. Or your recent anniversary trip. Or a recent church gathering. Or recent witnessing to others. Or whatever.
today is work, enjoying the warm autumn, music, coins, chess, baseball playoffs.

Christmas season is a great time to give out Gospel tracts to checkout workers and others. Moments With the Book (mwtb.org) has some nice ones.

Did some guitar and singing at our local Applefest so as to give out Gospel of John booklets. Did not attract to many, but walking through the street afterward I gave all of my 47 booklets fairly quickly. Also had Romans road bookmarks in the booklets.

Yeah, kind of like this movie. Took red clay out by the hand fulls through a small crawl space window in a small bin. Then I found a place to put it. I used it to bank up against the foundation. I lifted the sod, put the clay down, and then pressed the sod back over it. All the ugly red clay was neatly tucked away. This will help keep water away from the foundation. In the movie, they secretly disposed of small amounts of dirt..

I'm currently donating blood. I only do it for the free orange juice and chocolate chip cookie. I wonder what I can get for some toenail clippings?
When I was in the service if I was not deployed on a op I would give blood at their quarterly blood drives. Well one in particular back in '89. I was laying back and they doing their questionnaire. They got to the question have you eaten in x amounts of hours. I said yes even though it had been much longer since my last bite to eat.

I did my donation then got up and started walking to the refreshment table. I could just feel the blackness coming on so I knew I was gonna go all light headed. So I thought to myself I have to get to the table and grab a chair and sit down. I took off at a run to get there. Next thing I know I jerk real hard as the smelling salt hits my nostrils.

I come to and see I am soaked in orange juice. With the refreshment table being turned over on the floor. Seems I made it to the table then passed out headlong in to it and flipped it over.........LOL When I got back to my unit two other other guys from my unit had gone as well. They beat me back so when I came in I was greeted by other guys in my unit all day saying things like hey y'all who am I? As they would fall into walls, desks, tables or whatever was around...........LOL

My nickname back in those days was Skull, so all day long the would fall out and call it doing the Skull shuffle........LOL

I'm having a quiet evening knitting a sock for my son. There will be two eventually, I hope.
And having online fellowship here, praying for people, trying to figure Magenta's song & dipping in and out of topics.
I don't feel alone which is wonderful.

Wait... You hope there will eventually be two socks, or two sons?

Also, howdy Anni and welcome to the forum.
