I think the Christian community today lacks the guts to stand up and do what is right. We've forgotten that God promises to give us the words we need when we need them!

Amen! walkinthe spirit, I agree. Rosinsky I don't think there is a service that can give the Love that walkinthespirit is talking about.
We as Christians can not produce this type of Love apart from the Holy Spirit.

Romans 5:5
"And hope maketh not ashamed; because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us."

A Christian public tv station other than cable for those of us who can't afford cable. Programs are terrible and now using more profanity than ever. You can't even watch a game show without sexual remarks. Commercials are just as bad. If it was up to me I wouldn't own a tv. The internet service provider sounds great also. A Christian artist guild. A place where artist can gather and work on projects, listen to Christian music and not worry about hearing profanity etc. A place to relax and enjoy each others company, build relationships and encourage each others God given talents. This really made me think. An island would be nice. A Christian passport only gets you on the island. lolololol

preaching

1 Corinthians 1:21For after that in the wisdom of God the world by wisdom knew not God, it pleased God by the foolishness of preaching to save them that believe.

i could give some carnal things to do in the physical, but i better stick with what i see in the bible

What good is it to have all the physical essentials, while repentance towards God, and faith towards Jesus Christ isnt being preached, and many souls are heading down the road to perdition!

Hold fast, and repent!
Rev 3:3 Remember then how you have received and heard, and hold fast, and repent. Therefore if you will not watch, I will come upon you as a thief, and you will not know what hour I will come upon you...
Many will spend vast amounts of time discussing and arguing over when the Lord will return, or when the so called rapture of the church will take place, but totally fail to understand they have not received and heard the truth that transforms and saves!
They also fail to do their first works and repent as commanded, and don’t see what Jesus meant when He said to hold fast and watch, be alert, guard the heart, cloth yourself IN Him, and abstain from all appearances of evil.
This powerful verse alone along with hundreds of others all through scripture and in the book of Revelation, simple break down what is required of those seeking truth apart from the system of errors!
You must receive the truth, which can only come from a heart made pure though the repentance process, where you lay aside all filthiness and overflow of wickedness first! Then with great humility and meekness, which is real repentance, you can now receive the implanted word (Jesus Christ) cleansed and purged, the carnal mind put to death, thus leading to being a doer of the word and not a hearer only, as most who fight against the truth are, they hear but don’t understand, they are receiving the truth in deaf ears, a mind unsound and still carnal sold under sin!
Jesus is coming as a thief in the night, the world and church will be unaware when He will come, but He strongly warns His bride to be ready, pure, undefiled, and standing strong in the faith. He made it clear also who He will save and who will be cast away!
So if you are in great struggle with sin(willful disobedience to God) loving the world and all its vain attractions at the expense of walking in purity, sincerity and love, then you are not ready, and are risking a surprise attack from the Lord of all, who promised to rend to all according to their deeds!
Rev 22:11 He acting unjustly, let him still act unjustly. And the filthy, let him be filthy still. And the righteous, let him be righteous still. And the holy, let him be holy still.
Rev 22:12 And behold, I am coming quickly, and My reward is with Me, to give to each according as his work (deeds) Heart purity, holiness, separation, diligence to the truth, blameless and upright!
WE will be judged by how the Lord finds us when He comes! Do not think you can sin repent, sin repent, or as they like to say fornicate repent, get drunk repent, lie, cheat and steal, then just repent, and all is well with God! This isn’t real repentance, just sorrow of the world that just hardens the heart against God, and proves you are still carnal sold under sin, as the truly repentant soul, who actually went through godly sorrow leading to repentance and conversion, will be awake, and ready, cleansed and purged, for the bridegroom’s presence!
Rev 22:7 Behold, I come quickly. Blessed is he who keeps the Words of the prophecy of this Book.

What the Christian community is missing? Well..I think the answer lies within that very question actually..It is missing community..true community..not just some social club where nobody really is friends with you outside of church membership or facebook..

Hmm... another 4 year old thread where the OP isn't even a member any longer. Seems to be a growing trend lately.

What the body of Christ needs is deeply committed Christians who hear the voice of God and do His will. Not the carnal pleasure seeking Christians nor the intellectually superior but spiritually dead Christians, but the kind who can pray for and witness the power of God.

What I’d love in the community, is for us to sit together with all the scriptures and see how God would run it.

In the NT, it simply says to follow the Holy Spirit. Well, we humans seem to need more instructions than that. HOW do we have a community that shares love and build each other up by “follow the Holy Spirit”.

The OT gave more specific “do it like this”. God said that when they did it like he said, but didn’t have the spirit it didn’t work. I’ve studied people who follow those rules, and it does lead to judging and “legalism” that our church gets all upset about. But not having specific directions about how to do it leads to doing nothing. Or doing it by how men decide like an Easter Egg Hunt.

So, I would like to take out all the things God says about celebrating Him and doing for each other, study it and follow it. I don’t mean in our hearts only, but like God says. For instance celebrate the freedom in Christ God represented when God led the Jews out of slavery in exactly “this” way on “this” date. So we meet at the church on the day God said and do it “like this”. As a start.

So. I am radical.

Also, I think the trend of dividing the church community into small groups that meet separately is a wonderful idea, they can personally help each other. It seems to take more than just assigning people to a group, though. Sometimes the group fails to follow through as God would have them. Perhaps, groups need training in how to help each other. We do a pretty good job of it here on cc.

Maybe daring to be different than those around us? That used to mean something else. Now the ABnormal is becoming Normal. I think when people see us they should leave with the impression that they just talked to someone different. Soon that may not be a quality that people even want to know. But, I think we are called to be different...a light house I guess.

God isn't tolerant, why should His earthly church be?
God says narrow is the way.
I guess I don't like when people try and play God.

By that I mean judging other people they don't even know and throwing scriptures at them that might not even apply to their case.
