Jeremiah 9:23-24
Thus saith the LORD, Let not the wise man glory in his wisdom, neither let the mighty man glory in his might, let not the rich man glory in his riches: 24But let him that glorieth glory in this, that he understandeth and knoweth me, that I am the LORD which exercise lovingkindness, judgment, and righteousness, in the earth: for in these things I delight, saith the LORD.

James 1:5 If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.

[h=1]Genesis 6:4Authorized (King James) Version (AKJV)

There were giants in the earth in those days; and also after that, when the sons of God came in unto the daughters of men, and they bare children to them, the same became mighty men which were of old, men of renown.[/h]

It is not what a man thinks and says of himself that is important. It is what God thinks of him. 2 Corinthians 10:18_NLV

[h=1]Luke 10:21-24

In that hour Jesus rejoiced in spirit, and said, I thank thee, O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that thou hast hid these things from the wise and prudent, and hast revealed them unto babes: even so, Father; for so it seemed good in thy sight.
[SUP]22 [/SUP]All things are delivered to me of my Father: and no man knoweth who the Son is, but the Father; and who the Father is, but the Son, and he to whom the Son will reveal him.
[SUP]23 [/SUP]And he turned him unto his disciples, and said privately, Blessed are the eyes which see the things that ye see:
[SUP]24 [/SUP]for I tell you, that many prophets and kings have desired to see those things which ye see, and have not seen them; and to hear those things which ye hear, and have not heard them.[/h]

As for God, his way is perfect:
the word of the Lord is tried:
he is a buckler to all those that trust in him.
For who is God save the Lord?
or who is a rock save our God?
It is God that girdeth me with strength,
and maketh my way perfect.
He maketh my feet like hinds’ feet,
and setteth me upon my high places.
He teacheth my hands to war,
so that a bow of steel is broken by mine arms.
Thou hast also given me the shield of thy salvation:
and thy right hand hath holden me up,
and thy gentleness hath made me great.
Thou hast enlarged my steps under me,
that my feet did not slip.

(Psalm 18:30-36)

2 Timothy 4:3
For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears;

I form the light,
and create darkness:
I make peace,
and create evil:
I the Lord do all these things.[/h]

There is no one like you, LORD.
You are great, and your name is great and powerful.

Matthew 10:32-33
Anyone who acknowledges me before men, I shall acknowledge before my father in heaven. Anyone who disowns me before men, I shall also disown before my father in heaven.

I recently was given the opportunity to play in a band that would be playing the type of music I am really into, but the offer was cancelled when they found out I was a Christian. I was lucky that I heard this verse a few weeks ago, otherwise I would have not been in the best place emotionally.

Blessed are you when others revile you and persecute you and utter all kinds of evil against you falsely on my account.

[h=1]Matthew 22:41-46

While the Pharisees were gathered together, Jesus asked them,[SUP]
42 [/SUP]Saying, What think ye of Christ? whose son is he? They say unto him, The son of David.[SUP]
43 [/SUP]He saith unto them, How then doth David in spirit call him Lord, saying,[SUP]
44 [/SUP]The Lord said unto my Lord, Sit thou on my right hand, till I make thine enemies thy footstool?[SUP]
45 [/SUP]If David then call him Lord, how is he his son?[SUP]
46 [/SUP]And no man was able to answer him a word, neither durst any man from that day forth ask him any more questions.[/h]

12 Then the Spirit lifted me up, and I heard behind me a loud rumbling sound as the glory of the Lord rose from the place where it was standing.13 It was the sound of the wings of the living creatures brushing against each other and the sound of the wheels beside them, a loud rumbling sound. 14 The Spirit then lifted me up and took me away, and I went in bitterness and in the anger of my spirit, with the strong hand of the Lord on me. 15 I came to the exiles who lived at Tel Aviv near the Kebar River. And there, where they were living, I sat among them for seven days—deeply distressed.

(Ezekiel 3: 12-15 /NIV)
