I played much more wholesome games as a child. I play video games sometimes to help me unwind after my duties at home are done for the evening, and I see myself gravitating towards very violent, very graphic games. I prefer the types of games that allow me to vent frustrations.

I think playing a board game now would just bore me.

So many, we made up a lot of our games. One was called "Jimmy". I had two sisters. Here is how it was played: one sister would be "Jimmy", one would be the judge, and one would be the policeman. The one who was "Jimmy" is an escapee from jail. He would go somewhere in the house (or in the yard- wherever we were playing) and he would pretend to be a statue in some sort of pose. After counting to 100, the policeman would go find Jimmy and bring him to the judge who would proceed to chew Jimmy out and tell him to stop escaping from jail. Then, we would take turns being Jimmy, the policeman, or the judge. If my younger cousin was over, the game became "Jimmy and Jenny" and we had two escapees.

It was a hybrid between hide and seek- no one was hiding, and statues.

We also played a variation of freeze tag with either just the three of us, or for MORE fun my three cousins. My mother would turn on the radio, we would dance wildly and then she would stop the music, while we were frozen in whatever pose we happened to be striking when the music was turned off. This game was hilarious as we laughed at each others poses.

There were a lot more, though. I think the best were the weird games we made up ourselves.

They did not have video games when I was a child, but my favorite board game was monopoly,as I thought it exciting to get under way,and try to get all the properties I could. We would play it as a family.

And I also liked parcheesi, and the card game euchre, and chess, which my dad was very good at chess,or any other game, for he is one very logical, can figure things out, kind of guy.

If we are talking an outdoor kind of game,or physical activity,I would say baseball.

of course some of my favorite games were ones I made up,like when I was little I would use some pillows to hide myself on the couch, then when someone would sit down next to them,I'd burst from the pillows and go rawr!

thought I'd think up a thread that "everyone" can post in without feeling shy,so here we go,what was your favorite game as a child???
My brother and I used to play a lot of wiffle ball. That was great fun. Or I enjoyed throwing a tennis ball against the steps into our house, like a baseball pitcher, and then fielding it when it came back to me.

yeah it comes with an actual working super tiny alarm clock,(smaller than a pinky) and each time you land on a spot that says don't wake daddy you click the clock if it rings you lose,if it doesn't you continue the game til someone gets to end of board game finish line, anyone who woke daddy has to go back a ways!

I had a slightly later version of them when they had come down in price. Took a lot of saving! I bought a car racing game called Pole Position and the Atari came with a game called Yars Revenge. I think I bought the console in 1986.
My console was called Atari 2600 and was a bit smaller then in the PIC and was all black plastic. More modern looking slightly. Brother may still have it. Think he still has the Commodore 64 things as well which we bought in the late 1990's cheap secondhand!

Is that where moles pop up through holes and you whack them with a hammer back into their holes?

just noticed how silly I sounded,if you wake daddy 3 times then you lose, game continues til either all players besides one wakes daddy or you get to finish line lol sorry for the confusion!
