I remember this one boy I watched loved the movie "Ice Age" he wanted me to keep replaying it and he could say every line as the movie played.

I would routinely go with his mom on long trips because most often than not couldn't drive and she needed me to watch her son. I remember one time he climbed up on my lap in the waiting room and gave me a flower and said, "I love you!" Why do kids have to be so gosh darn adorable? Lol
They are?????

My first job was the summer I was 11 years old. I picked crabs with my grandmother at a crab shop. We were there before sunrise, and knocked off at 2:00, generally. It was hard work, physically. Standing on your feet on cement (some ladies sat, but I would get tired of sitting). I liked being with my grandmother, though. There's also a tiredness to your body that is kind of satisfying when you do manual labor, it's different from working at an office or something. I learned to take my time and not get meat full of shells (the sign of a careless picker), and I learned NOT to pick out the big crabs from the pile (bad manners). I also learned to be respectful to old ladies. One old lady would tell the most outrageous stories as fact- and I learned not to talk back and to just listen.

I was paid in cash, under the table, since I was a kid. My mother told me to cut off and keep the corner of my first $100.00 bill, which I did. I still have it in my scrapbook.

Not exactly a true job, but I forgot that at 15 I did some volunteer work experience at
a vets. I absolutely loved it and so wanted to be a vet tech, but the number of jobs available
is very limited.

At one point the vet team let me help with the operations. There was one dog brought in
which had swallowed a ball! The vet asked me to swab away as he cut the stomach away to
remove the ball. I think he expected me to faint but it was fascinating, so when he had
finished stitching the stomach back up, he started rummaging around inside the dog showing
me bits. He pointed out the spleen and I thought oh that's weird it looked like a purple
aubergine! I discovered later the vets had a bet going to see which could get me to faint
first!

I so loved doing that job. One day a budgie was brought in needing its beak clipping.
It bit the vet and he let go of it, we all had to chase it around the room trying to
catch it.

Another time a snake was brought in with worms.

Then there was the hamster with herroids ouch!
Wow What a great job. How on earth did they treat a Hamster with Hemorrhoids? Im amazed that they suffered from them in the first place

My first job (if you want to call it that) was helping unload produce trucks at a farmers' market across the highway from us. I was probably 9 or 10 years old, and the owner would "hire" us to help unload the trucks when they came in. Sometimes he'd pay us 35 cents an hour, and sometimes he'd just give us a popsicle and say "thanks"....

One of my best olfactory memories came from when they would open the back doors of a refrigerated truck loaded with cantaloupe... almost heaven....

my first "real" job was (IIRC) working at a taco place... I had just started driving and worked afternoons til closing. I think I was making about $1.35 an hour...

I also worked at a donut shop about 3 hours per morning up until I graduated HS...

Mochi!where
have you been? Valentines is over, but ur still busy with your cupcakes?!

I thought my first job was babysitting for some nieces, then suddenly remembered my father asking to pull out some white hairs w/ tweezers while he napped on weekend afternoons. Was that only 1 centavo per pull, but thats too little... mmm, maybe 5c!

I did that too. I did not like to baby sit or pull white hair because I would rather play all the time. Child labor was rampant in our country and we were underpaid too. Lol!

my first job was in high school. sophomore year. i was an afterschool tutor for a local middle school. well, really, it was with the city, but all the tutors were split up to the middle schools. i was a tutor til the summer after i graduated high school.

we could work 4 to 8 hrs a week. the first 4, we didn't necessarily need to tutor. i spent a lot of time just playing games lol! but the last 4 hours, we HAD to tutor. so i just worked 4 hrs a week lol
