When I left Maine earlier this year to return to Florida my bible got left behind. One day there was a package in the mail that a woman from this site had mailed to me out of concern for my spiritual well being. I now, once again, am reading the bible on a regular basis. This same woman also sent me a hand-crafted little place mat type of thing for coffee mugs as she knows that I love coffee. I did not want to soil this little thing with coffee so I decided to place my bible on top of it to keep it safe and clean. I call this my bible cozy.

This same woman and I started to exchange snail mail along with emails writing about our past lives and how we came to be the persons that we are now today. Soon, thereafter we started to talk on the phone at night for hours at a time. She is a wonderful woman and I fell deeply in love with her and she fell deeply in love with me. We both believe that God has caused our paths to cross. We are planning on becoming husband and wife next month and live the rest of our lives together loving each other, growing closer to God and serving Him. I prayed for God to allow me to know happiness. She makes me happy.

That's unfortunately usually true. I believe it's because a lot of Christians (like most people) don't have an alternative to religion. It's religion or no religion. Jesus has not been an alternative in a very long time. The Boyz II Men Christmas song comes to mind just now. The first words of the first verse say: "Do they know, that Jesus was born on this day to save our lives. Do they know, that He carried the sins of the world upon His heart, so that you and I can live, and we'd have an alternative in this life." Here's a video:
