I think God gave us a sense of humor so we could laugh at ourselves and keep us humble,
also to deal with whiners, malcontents, bureaucrats and those who are not enlightened enough to agree with us.:)

Why did god give us the desire of revenge?
If we put on the whole armor of God, we can give off revenge to God and not take it on ourselves. (Rom 12:19)
Friends, do not avenge yourselves; instead, leave room for His wrath. For it is written: Vengeance belongs to Me; I will repay, says the Lord.

Why did god give us the desire of revenge?
so we could learn part of what self-control is and allow ourselves to adhere to something the Lord asks of us
To leave room for the Lords vengenace
Since his vengeance is just moreso than our own

2 Peter 1
5For this very reason, make every effort to add to your faith goodness; and to goodness, knowledge; 6and to knowledge, self-control; and to self-control, perseverance; and to perseverance, godliness; 7and to godliness, mutual affection; and to mutual affection, love. 8For if you possess these qualities in increasing measure, they will keep you from being ineffective and unproductive in your knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. 9But whoever does not have them is nearsighted and blind, forgetting that they have been cleansed from their past sins.

Romans 12:19
Do not take revenge, my dear friends, but leave room for God's wrath, for it is written: "It is mine to avenge; I will repay," says the Lord.

Here's a better question: why did he give us so many desires which supress biological desires and often lead to dissatisfication? And also we cannot succumb to or be considered a sin.

So we know what it means to crucify ourselves to the flesh and follow Christ
We are suppose to master our flesh so it doesnt master us, and thereby God is our master
And it is the Holy spirit who allows us to do this, Christ within us.
Gods word in our hearts which is the light that drives out the darkness
Galations 5:24
24 Those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires.

We're not suppose to seek after our own self seeking desires
We're asked to make the choice to seek God

Seek ye first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all other things will be added unto you

2 Timothy

Why did god give us the desire of revenge?
God gave us free choice, with free choice we chose to take the desire or revenge with the tree in the garden of eden. I don't think it is correct to blame God for our existence or humanity. (I know you might argue otherwise but IN MY OPINION questions like that lead to those roads.)

And I am not sure what you are going after in the second question about biological desires. The way I read it; the questions are two of the same kind, one is just more specific and wordy...

I said the "desire". We never chose to have this desire, he must have given it to us in his creation. If we act on it is irrellevent.

I won't blame god, but he could have done without making me wanting to hurt someone for hurting me first.

God didn't give us the desire for revenge, that's the flesh, that He helps us battle against. I think Humor is one way to deal with anger.

Romans 12:[SUP]19 [/SUP]Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves, but rather give place unto wrath: for it is written, Vengeance is mine; I will repay, saith the Lord.

You've been treated unkindly by someone and that has hurt you. I'm very sorry. The world is a rough place and without the Lord to buffer the pain, comfort and give us hope, the outlook is at best bleak.

Freewill is a double edged sword but God doesn't want robots so he gave us a mind to make choices,

Deuteronomy 30:19

I call heaven and earth to record this day against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore choose life, that both thou and thy seed may live.

He lays out our choices

A: Life
B: Death

and He even tells us the correct answer Choose LIFE!!!

You are at an age when one a young man questions so I will pray God will give you wisdom and heal your pain in the name of Jesus, Amen.

Doesn't he? I think Irony is my favorite. When God created Irony he must have looked at it and said gosh they'll get a kick outta this one :p

If we have free will then miracles can't happen right?

Why did god give us the desire of revenge?[/QUOTE]

Is revenge your desire really? This sounds like a problem that you should pray about. Vengeance is His. I do not believe this is a desire that He gave us.

Here's a thought. Perhaps He gave us a sense of humor in order to not get our noses out of joint when other people disagree with us? Occasionally, I get a good laugh out of what I read on here.

I honestly believe that God has a good sense of humor. We read in the OT that the Jews were complaining that they had no meat to eat. What does God do and say about their complaints. He says that He will send quail for them to eat. So much that it will come out of their noses. He also inflicted their enemies with hemoroids.

Of course miracles can happen, but God doesn't force a miracle on a person, even if it would be for thier own good. That would violate thier freewill. If a Christian prays to the Lord for help there are times when only God's interventation can change the natural results.

Why did god give us the desire of revenge?
Not ours but His if we deny our own revenge, the Holy Spirit if be we are open to God's revenge by the Holy Spirit in us then it is His revenge, again not ours His desires and heart through ours. The Holy Spirit is our justification of any revenge and only Him through us.
