Though He may not have seen satan in the desert while living life as a man, I think its safe to say that He has in fact seen satan many times before 
He knew exactly who satan was, and He even tells us in Revelations where satan resides on earth (Turkey). I believe Magenta's post is exactly what was written, Christ did watch satan fall from Heaven, I believe the lightning reference meant it was like a loud and thunderous crash, he and his angels were thrown down to the earth, and not gently moved from here to there, as some atheist would have you believe with their new "satan is not a real being, but a job of the angels" teaching. (Which goes against both the NT and OT)
And I kinda worry about the OP of this thread, I worry that he will go on an even more dark and negative view point of wanting to follow the word of God, and be lead to a more angry and wrong outlook on people. I hope he can find a good people to talk to that will help lead him away from evil thoughts.
