Hi everyone!

I was wondering if anyone has any tips on building muscle (especially upper body and core. I think my leg workouts are good).

Also, any recipe recommendations?

You have to concentrate on the core exercises; their importance for building muscle and strength and mass in this order:
Squats, dead lifts, bench press, and shoulder press.
Squats can even help with upper body mass and strength.
Super squats, doing 20 reps at a weight where the last 2 or 3 reps are almost unbearable, really gets the bodies testosterone and other muscle growth hormones moving into high gear.

If you want to do it the faster way, but it is unhealthier, eat a lot of animal protein.
I you want to do it in a healthier way, but it will take more time, and you may not get as strong, but you will still be plenty strong, eat less, or no, animal protein, and eat more plant protein.

I'm in no rush so the healthy way. My goal is simply to gain muscle and lose fat at the end of every month.

When I was in weight lifting class we were taught to do different parts of the body on different days giving each body part a day to recover before working on it again. Muscle building is tearing the muscle and then it repairing itself bigger and stronger so if you work on say the arms then the next day work on them again you are doing more harm than good. getting a good workout routine is vital but depending on what your going for the routines vary if you are wanting lean compared to bulky the routines are vastly different, what exactly are going for in your muscle building?

also building muscles can be dangerous without a proper diet protein alone isn't enough, you need a butt loads of all the essential vitamins you need tons of carbs as well the carbs are what are going to make your body bulk if you go on a low carb diet while building muscle your body it going to wear down

Oh ok then what you want isn't body building. if your wanting to lose weight and gain muscle then running is a fantastic way of doing it and also proper diet. But remember that carbs are your friend they are what give you energy and help your muscle build so eat a decent amount of carbs about an hour before you go running don't over do it of course. and also i'm sure you know about the good fats and bad fats right? oh ya and water tons of water when we pee we are basically expelling fats and carbs I love water and I drink it all the time a little to much honestly as I keep losing to much weight i eat and eat and eat but because I am going to the bathroom all the time from the massive amount of water I drink I lost 15 pounds in the last two months and am under weight

Luckily I have a personal trainer to help me with my diet. I eat basically anything and everything. Part of my problem is I tend to binge but trying to gain better control of it.

I had not thought about whether I want to lean out or bulk up. Many women would say they want to get skinny. That's not my goal. I'd like to bulk up eventually but I have a bit of fat to lose as well.

I'll do anything but running. Luckily I love biking, hiking, and swordsmanship for the cardio aspect of my life. I do also agree with the carbing up before a workout. That and coffee.
