I was 100% raw for 5 years. I currently eat about 75% raw.
There is a lot one needs to know to do it correctly.

With so many books and websites on raw & living foods, how can one know which is correct? It's been pretty much trial & error, which can be overwhelming sometimes.

I do get raw organic nuts & seeds and eat lots of fresh vegetables and fruit. But I cannot go without eating meat anymore. I get anemic, weak and disoriented when I eliminate meat entirely from my diet. I figure God provided animals for us to eat so I'm eating them (fish, chicken, lean beef). Plus I walk and exercise a lot so I need meat for muscle maintaining.

There are excellent websites that offer living & raw food recipes. Pretty incredible, actually. Just Google "living foods".

You get weak because the meat is stimulating to your system. That weakness is you detoxing.
But, you can certainly eat meat or fish or eggs or poultry if you do it no more then 3 times a week and make sure it is organic and clean and alkalize your system before hand.

I'd encourage you to educate yourself as much as possible on this lifestyle. I personally follow it and can testify to its enormous health benefits. Don't allow the ignorance and judgement of others put you off - your health is your greatest investment at the end of everyday and it will be there for you in every way those onlookers won't. You'll encounter it time and again, but just know you're on the best side!

Start by investigating the source of processed 'foods' where they come from outside of a neat, air tight little package in a refrigerator. What actually went into it and how it got to be that way. Study animal cruelty and the ecosystems and its correlation to this.
Raw, unprocessed, veganism is the only way to be.

As close to nature as you possible can get is your best philosophy to lead your life by. If you need any assistance come back to this forum or search further, the bulk that's out there will benefit your life enormously.

I might eat rare beef but not raw beef. Maybe if you add a bunch of seasonings it might be edible. Regardless, raw hamburger (with toppings) is better than a raw carrot.

I ate about 50%-75% raw food for a while. That was how I got pregnant. LOL The diet made me feel superb but I also miss warm foods too thus I never completed converted over. Here's what I ate:

smoothies: Spinach or baby greens as a base. Usually I'd add berries; fresh or frozen. Rarely did I add a banana but I was monitoring carbs at the time too.

fruit bowls: papaya and mango or lots of berries or melons with pineapple and grape. The first two groups might have had almond silvers and chia seeds added. Flaxseed too.

salads: with anything I care to put in there. This is the place where I go wild. I don't worry about portion control at all. I think I might eat 5 ounces of greens alone. Then I add the fresh veggies.

You can't go wrong with organic either. Choose organic when you can. It taste better.

Try to get some fresh coconut in for protein and fat in addition to eating nuts and seeds.
