I have just discovered that I literally have no money in the world; my husband has gambled the lot. I am left with absolutely nothing, no means to get to work, no means to get food and no family or friends to turn to. He has also destroyed my credit rating making it impossible for me to get a loan. I’m not a religious person but in my panic to search for help online I came across this site. If there is a god then please could you say a prayer to him for me. Is this His way of turning me to His light. I feel so in the dark right now!

Thank you for your prayers and for your time. I have those organisations to research but can see that this is going to be an incredibly long process ahead of me.

Not necessarily. God is an amazing Father and full of mercy and quick to save us in times of trouble. When we are weak, He shows His strength mightily. I am telling you from experience, dear lady, God is faithful! :)

I truly hope he does. I could do with a miracle right now! Having no access to any money is one of the scariest experiences.

I know most churches will help folks out in dire need. Have you tried calling around or visiting any churches in your area?

Kind advice but I can’t beg from the church. Firstly, due to the shame (I live in a small community) and secondly, the audacity of turning to an organisation solely at a time of need is not in my nature.

I wouldn’t let pride or my nature keep me from getting help. And the organizations that offer help for people in crisis are established for that very reason. Many people have to depend on them for help when in trouble. There’s no shame in that.

Nevertheless, it’s prayer that you request and I will continue to trust the Lord to help you. God bless, Katy!

Sell his organs on the black market. Let the buyers know where to collect their goods.

It's likely that God has brought you here to receive support to figure out what to do next, mingle a bit and you'll learn a great deal.

Possibly, we’ll see! I have literally nothing to lose now so there’s no
harm in getting to know a few new people.

Katy , sometimes hitting rock bottom is the only people reach out to Christ . God loves you and is here for you . I believe that God brought you to this site for a reason . Just call out the name of Jesus ....you'll be surprised at what happens . I will pray for you . Heavenly Father , I pray that you will heal and bless Katy's life . I pray for her husband to be set free from his gambling addiction . I pray that Katy and her husband will see that you are the Truth and that you love them and will heal they're marriage . In the name of Jesus Christ , amen !

That's a horrible thing for your husband to do. I'm not sure what I can do to help but can only pray for God to connect you to the right people that may be able to help you. It doesn't matter if you are a religious person or not because Christianity is not a religion but a way of life. Hopefully, you will find comfort, support and understanding from the members of this site. Glad to have you join us despite the extreme hardship that you are now faced with. Welcome to CC.

You can do all you need, but if your husband doesn't seem professional help for gambling addiction then you'll end up broke again one day.
Your current needs are just symptoms of the central problem, gambling. When you have a cold you don't just treat a runny nose. Same goes for your husbands addiction.

Well, I kicked him out last night. Rock bottom or not, he’s jeapordised mine and my children’s well-being. We’ll be going solo from here onward. I hope he gets the help he needs but in the meantime I need to claw back control over my identity and control over my financial accounts. Thanks for all of the well wishing from strangers; largely from across the pond. Now, I will be exploring best ways to legally raise emergency quick cash? Thanks again to those who have offered prayers; I’m not a religious type but appreciate the Christian sentiments offered.

I have said a prayer for God to address your pressing needs in this dire situation. I agree that it would be wise for you to sever all financial ties with your husband. Actually, Jesus is not a religious type too so please know that you're in good company.
