HEEEEEEY! :)
Nice to meet you! I'm one of the New kids on the Block thought I would take the chance to say Hello :)

Funny thing about entering new Christian communities:
Yesterday I brought my sister with me to my church of 3 and a half years (it's technically pentecostal) me and my sis were raised catholic. Funny how when a person is introduced to the members of a church community you get so many different responses....

Now my sister Pulled a Juno on my Conservative Portuguese family and got pregnant at age 16. Although It goes against my value system of abstaining from sex before marriage ,this was an opportunity to extend the same love and grace God gave to me when I started a relationship with him. I'm so relieved that the Bible talks about how it's not our job to go around judging or condemning people .Instead we are to love. Now i introduced my sister to a old man in my church community who proceeded to bombard her with questions of whether she was married (asked this twice)...or whether she was divorced(also asked this twice)....Resulting him displaying an obvious expression of disgust. I interceded This completely threw my sister off. She suddenly felt uncomfortable and wouldn't even take my nephew to kids church alone stating "Why would i go by myself? So people can ask me more stupid questions?"

Mother Teresa Stated "if you judge someone you have no time to love them"
<3

When new people walk into God's house Don't try and size them up...
LETS STOP FOCUSING ON:

Whether the new couple living together is married...
Whether the new guy is Gay ...
The fact that the new girl's skirt is too short ...

And instead ask OURSELVES am I displaying the LOVE and GRACE of CHRIST to this person?
Conviction will come to them through the spirit, and rebuking they will receive once their in relationship with people who are living for God. Just Pray for them,it goes a long way.

I look forward to experiencing fellowship with you-Stay Blessed :D

You shouldn't judge that old man for asking your sister a couple of questions in a way you didn't like.
And your sister also accused people of asking "stupid questions" before she even met them didn't she ?

It sounds like you both need to stop the hate; it's a time saver !!!

hi, welcome to christian chat, its nice to have you.

I am sorry to hear a fellow pentecostal did that to your sister. I am a pentecostal myself and been since age 5. and I believe Judging is wrong. I wish people can come to realize that Judging is the lords job not ours.

Well, you weren't there to see the tone, body language, context of the questions and you bypassed the fact that this man made a 'look of disgust'. So it could be said you're judging their abilities to discern this mans attitudes and intents. Stop the hate, its a real times saver.

OK, my turn, someone judge me on how i'm judging him for judging them for judging about feeling judged. o.o

Eugene, Shemaiah, and Ugly thanks for making me feel Welcome :)

Astro there is nothing wrong about asking a question but as Ugly beautifully pointed out I did note the old man gave a "look of disgust"

Hi! Welcome to CC.
Don't let one persons actions set the tone for the whole body of the church...remember some times the devil will use the actions of others to condem us. Good news is...there is no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus!
Saved by grace through faith...just love your brother and his short comings...and know that we have our own issues blocking our vision.
God bless and remember to ask God for his wisdom!

Ephesians 2:8 & 9
For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith--and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God--
not by works, so that no one can boast.

Romans 8:1 & 2
Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus,
because through Christ Jesus the law of the Spirit of life set me free from the law of sin and death.

Matt 7:5
first take out the bit of wood from your eye, then will you see clearly to take out the grain of dust from your brother's eye.
