That i know of, this is more of a joke between friends, rather than actually 'adopting' people. I've seen this within various cliques on and off this site for almost a year now.
Also, this thread is for new people to introduce themselves, so any future posts you may want to put in another section. Things like this could in the 'Suggestions' area, though its more for making suggestions to improve the site, but a lot of the people that read that section have knowledge to answer a lot of things as well. I'd avoid the 'Misc' forums for these questions as it seems to be overrun by games and will likely easily be missed.
