If you're going to do things in the public, you need to have a thick skin.

Arts and entertainment is tough.

I mean, there are actually SOME people who don't think a hairy green cyclops should be a male model...

but I still feel sexy on that catwalk.
Well yes you have a point. God will thicken my skin up for me. If he wants my skin thicker, He will show me vile comments of hate, to consider.

Also, I am close to having some of my music played on the air, but not in the USA, so not really going to discourage me any.

I guess it is also a good moment to bring much a comment up.

When you are faced with people who will put you down, disagree with you, say things with hatred, how will YOU deal with such situations? Will you have a "Christian" response? Or will you reply in the same fashion as the heathen?

Looking around at our world, it is clear, that there are too many lukewarm Christians. How many would debate that? Christ came out of Love.

Well J I like your passion for sure:D I can't say I know what your feeling but there are many times when I think of people who are lost who refuse to believe in him and accept him never knowing his love never knowing how his warm embracing arms can be so comforting in our darkest times never knowing the beauty his heart shines.

In this time when my heart is most sensitive I don't know why but I just begin to weep as if it's not even my tears that are falling but his I can feel this profound deep white hot pain in my inner most being I can't even stand sometimes I just am on my knees holding my stomach and weeping and cannot stop.

Perhaps this is somewhat what your speaking about
God bless you sir. I pray that the Lord continue to bless you, no matter what He might be showing you about such a time as this. I pray that He guide you. Amen

Another thing to those here who would wish to throw a few jabs and leave.

Is there a lot of gossip in your church? I have been to a few like that. Very godly prayer points to consider. If you see a lot of gossip going on in YOUR church, this would be a good thing to pray to the Lord about. Pray that He expose that foul thing, and get it out of the body of Christ. It does not belong there.

Oh fine. I'll stick around and reply. It is always the ones who either love, or hate, what you are doing, who seem to respond the most.

Also, this is the internet.

Just for the sake of example, if I showed up at your church, in front of the people who know you well, would you STILL say all of this, to my face? Maybe yes, maybe no. Something to think about.
I'm sorry if my critique of your rap upset you, if that makes me part of the heathen so be it. Stick around and write a few posts about yourself. This is a community after all and you are now part of it.

No you actually did not upset me at all. I'm very glad you said such things to me, in this fashion. It gives me a chance to bring up such needed truths. If you are a heathen, that is between you, and the Christ, no one else can face either heaven or hell for you, sir or ma'am. These are really deep Christian issues that do need to be discussed.

How many of you, sit around, and say these things like this on a regular basis? It was CLEARLY everybody egging each other on, a little "clique", if you will. Consider if this is a bit "holier than thou" I have heard my fellow Christian described as by the heathen. Notice one person said something nice, and then, started in bashing as well. My goal is not to be right at all, or "prove you wrong". No, my goal, is that God himself, would make you more godly, if you would let Him work on you personally. Who am I to judge you? I do not know you. But Jesus does.

To clarify: when people don't like your rap, that doesn't mean they're full of hate.

Maybe they just don't like your rap.

When I said, "get a thick skin", I wasn't implying you should call people names whenever they don't like your art.
Art is subjective.
Some will like it, and some won't.
You don't get to accuse people of hate because they don't like your art.

If YOU give everybody a link to your art, then it's all on YOU.
If YOU are going to put yourself out there, then YOU are responsible for the results.
Nobody came to your house, and begged to hear your rap.
You uploaded, then came here, and asked people to listen to it... YOU did it.
So, whatever the results, YOU are responsible for it.

You don't get to call people names for not liking it.

If people don't like your art, you should ask why.

Start asking why.

Why?
- Is it because they just don't like rap?
- Is it because they don't like your style of rap?
- Is it because they don't the subject of your rap?
- Is it because they don't like the quality of the rap?
- Is it because of all kinds of other little things?

If you want to do this stuff, and you want to get better... then you need to get a thick skin, and you need to start asking "WHY", whenever people don't like it.

J don't take anything anyone says personally you can't get upset because people don't like your rap I mean I personally just don't like rap in general a lot of people have a genre of music that just makes them cringe and rap is that for me.

Believe me you think you have it bad? I have been condemned to hell simply because I had a different understanding of a certain doctrine debate I have been called a false prophet and accused of leading God's sheep into the gates of hell I have had scripture thrown at me like a weapon being called all kinds of horrible things by those who claim to be love who call themselves Christians. I know all to well of the blood lust against other people by so called Christians but if I am to be honest had I not gone through all that I might not have learned how to respond to such heavy attacks in love I have even seen some of these people have their hearts changed by how God taught me to respond to people like that.

I only mention this, in good intentions. For I do not know who in your life you speak this way towards.

I would like to dissect, your apology, for all who would see it.

You start by apologizing, and then suggest that because you say harsh things, that that alone could put you in the category of being unsaved. You you do street ministry? Do you go out and speak to people, and tell them of the Christ? Not all are called to do such things, and I am not judging anyone who serves God in their own way, or even those who don't serve God at all.

Now, you are probably right, that many are seeing my introduction post, as self promoting. Admin, come take this whole post down if you would like, perfectly fine. Let's not deny that I am sharing something I am passionate about, and it is also my attempt at service to the Christ (one of many).

But why not just call it for what it is? People will judge for themselves. Notice, I did not see one person, allude to this being my very first post, and flame me for that exact reason. Is there merit in telling me I should be part of this community first, before posting much things, absolutely. I will remember such things in the future, I'm not above God, or His correction. BUT! If I am to introduce myself, should I be fake? Should I do it as a robot, with no emotion and/or feeling? This is what I do, so as I am introducing myself, how can I not mention what I feel the Lord calling me to? It seemed the MOST fitting, way to write such a thing, form that perspective.

I can see that many will not agree that it belong in an introduction, as you do not know my intentions. I know much about online marketing, and such things. If I just wanted to spam, and put my message in front of others, there are much more effective ways of doing that, that is. So you very well could be right that in this forum, this is not the best way to write your first post. But if I am introducing myself, I will continue to do so, in a way that others might not understand.

To me, all of the comments, came across to me as hateful. My opinion.

Even the tone in which you reply to me now, the tone, to "put me in my place", or "put me down". I have called not a person any names. I gave my opinion as to the comments being spoken about me, or the way in which I have come across to others, at least. Even this reply, seems to have more hate in it, than the last comment.

When I said the above quote you have highlighted, I was considering Romans 8:28, "And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose." So I TRULY meant it, as a good thing.

I am truly sorry that you have had that experience in the church. I am glad that you now know the TRUTH! Jesus came to save, and not condemn.

Did you know, that those who serve the enemy (yes the devil), they get some of their most powerful curses, straight out of the bible? By twisting God's words. Consider when satan temped Jesus after fasting. he kept saying "if thou be the son of God". he knows good and well Jesus is the Christ, although he would never want to admit it. I tell you, I do not know the people you speak of, of course, but there are REAL wolves in sheep's clothing out there.

There is a reason I write rhymes, and I might not ever admit it publicly.

Well, I still think it was pretty rough. Post another one some time after you have developed your skills a little.

I was trying to discuss REALITY.

I wasn't trying to "put you down."

When you're able to deal with a bit of criticism, whether it's fair or unfair, then you'll be ready to create art for public consumption.

Good luck with everything.

Fair enough, you are indeed entitled to your opinion. You have softened your words a bit so thank you for that.

In all fairness to all of you who simply did not like it, talent wise, this was something I made, with my intended audience, being purely secular. I have another account in which I make most of my stuff, and that account is a little more geared towards people who already believe and have faith. Perhaps I should have considered that, it could be stated. This is clearly not "worship music" which is my favorite kind of music personally. I also sing on the worship team at church one of the churches I go to. and yes I basically murder the English language when I type and write, not even gonna deny that.

All of the feedback I have received from people who are in the world, just out in the general pubic, seemed to be moved more by this "battle rap" style, if you will. Very ego based. Lyrics that are more geared towards "showing someone up". I'm doing this not because I necessarily even care for rap all that much myself (sure, let those words came back and bite me soon, I don't care). This has been the most effective style of music I have made, to open the door for me to speak with someone about Jesus Christ. So yes, while any constructive criticism, I will of course consider. But the people who tell me that they will now give their life to Christ, I'll NEVER ignore what they tell me, as I'm looking forward much more of that, nothing better. I wanna see more parties taking place in heaven, as there is a celebration, every time a new one comes into the kingdom.

I believe everything happens for a reason and what satan may have done for evil God used for good.

Yes this is quite good.
I've heard much better rapping. My point in posting it was that she did it in a way that will leave listeners pondering something, rather than just liking the sound, rhyme, or beat of words and music. If you asked most people what a rapper said, they will usually just remember that the dude liked Ho's and hated cops.... often little more.
