hi, a iittle adbout myself.
First I, look forward to joining this Christian online community, and trust I will be able to make some positive contribution to it. I have spent some time in reading some of the theads already and find them very instructive.
I was converted to faith in the Lord Jesus Christ in 1962 whilst serving in the army and posted in Singapore during which time there was a spiritual revival, many were coming to faith, it was a very exciting time. A little time later my wife was also saved. Returning to England and demob found us without any christian fellowship and not knowing where to go, the Lord wonderfully intervened. Sitting together in a cafe, gave thank and shortly after the waitress who had served us came over and asked if we were Christians. The reult of this we became members of a smallevangeical church and a little later were both baptised by full imersion.
That was many years ago and much future experience of the Lords goodness and mercy. The story is to long to tell. After leaving the evangelical church,my first church family found ourselves, somewhat surpricingly, with the Brethren, and there for qukte a number of years, not to be regretted though now would be uncomfortable with some of their teaching. Since then have been with Baptist Churcnes of various shades and for the past 24years with Strict and Particular Baptists, basically, Calvanists ( NOT the New Calvinist's )
I think I have covered a fairly wide field of Christian experience, good and bad, as the Lord Jesus Christ has seen it to be needful for me.
I love the scriptures and the One of whom they speak. My first version of choice is the AV though many others I do find helpful.
This is a very brief account of a sinner saved by grace alone and by faith alone and journeying on to that blessed hope above, being with The LORD JESUS CHRIST FOREVER, the lover of my soul. Apologies for typing errors Evad.
