You must have exceptional circulation.

Haha, she is not even wearing a coat! LOL. That is hilarious. And I must mention now, too, that in watching some movies, I really noticed how people in America go outside in freezing weather when it is snowing and blowing, and they do not even do up their coats! Now maybe that only happens like that in Christmas movies? I dunno. I was born and raised in southern Ontario, and we always got lots of snow and below zero temps in winter time, which was never an excuse to stay indoors. Out we always went, or were sent to play, make snowmen, snow angels, go sledding/tobogganing, skating, or whatever. Even as a family we would go to some lake on a wintry Sunday afternoon to go skating with relatives. One of the traumas of my childhood was in discovering that the only pair of skates that fit me one year were BOYS' skates, and I was forced to wear them despite my absolute aversion to wearing black skates that clearly were meant for a male. When I was old enough, I got my own skates, and they were figure skates. A couple of my sisters and I walked to a neighbourhood community centre rink many-a-time to go skating... And we always did up our coats. LOL!

I thought with Canadian families the men play hockey and the ladies cut holes in the ice to wash clothes after the game.

The American college students really do wear shorts year round.

You are welcome... I was going to let you know when you first asked, but thought I would allow H&H to answer himself.

Hello everyone! I am here hoping to connect with other Christians. Most of my friends and associates are not Christians and since I want to keep growing in my faith, I want to do what I can to surround myself with people with similar values.
I am sure that you will find plenty of peeps here that share the values that you do. Glad to have you onboard with us. Welcome to CC.

And yet it is powerful, full of dunamis and kratos-just love it.
J.
Thank you so much! That is very kind of you to say...

I had to look those words up (dunamis and kratos) .:giggle:

Speaking of which... in the process of writing many of those, I used a dictionary and thesaurus a LOT.

I kind of feel like I tore the language apart looking for the perfect words to get at the truth of my heart.

It is! I enjoy walking around downtown. You get this way very often?
I relocated from Cleawater, FL to NE Tennessee 3 years ago. Lived there for 6 years. Also lived in the Orlando area for over 20 years. Tennessee is a lot slower than Florida, that's for sure.

Greek-Koine Greek and Hebrew-I love the hermeneutical approach to Scriptures as well as exegetical.

Act 17:11 Now these [Jews] were better disposed and more noble than those in Thessalonica, for they were entirely ready and accepted and welcomed the message [N1concerning the attainment through Christ of eternal salvation in the kingdom of God] with inclination of mind and eagerness, searching and examining the Scriptures daily to see if these things were so.
Act 17:12 Many of them therefore became believers, together with not a few prominent Greeks, women as well as men.

More noble than those (eugenesteroi tōn). Comparative form of eugenēs, old and common adjective, but in N.T. only here and Luk_19:12; 1Co_1:26. Followed by ablative case tōn as often after the comparative.

With all readiness of mind (meta pāsēs prothumias). Old word from prothumos (pro, thumos) and means eagerness, rushing forward. In the N.T. only here and 2Co_8:11-19; 2Co_9:2. In Thessalonica many of the Jews out of pride and prejudice refused to listen. Here the Jews joyfully welcomed the two Jewish visitors.

Examining the Scriptures daily (kath' hēmeran anakrinontes tas graphas). Paul expounded the Scriptures daily as in Thessalonica, but the Beroeans, instead of resenting his new interpretation, examined (anakrinō means to sift up and down, make careful and exact research as in legal processes as in Act_4:9; Act_12:19, etc.) the Scriptures for themselves. In Scotland people have the Bible open on the preacher as he expounds the passage, a fine habit worth imitating.

Whether these things were so (ei echoi tauta houtōs). Literally, “if these things had it thus.”

The present optative in the indirect question represents an original present indicative as in Luk_1:29 (Robertson, Grammar, pp. 1043f.). This use of ei with the optative may be looked at as the condition of the fourth class (undetermined with less likelihood of determination) as in Act_17:27; Act_20:16; Act_24:19; Act_27:12 (Robertson, Grammar, p. 1021). The Beroeans were eagerly interested in the new message of Paul and Silas but they wanted to see it for themselves. What a noble attitude. Paul’s preaching made Bible students of them. The duty of private interpretation is thus made plain (Hovey).

Shalom
J.

And after the first month?
Don't worry about it.
If you have something to donate along the way, I'm sure the admin who started the forum would appreciate it because there are no ads/ sponsorship to take the data expenses. However, there's no charge for use. There is for extra features though.
