I,ve beencoming to Christian Chat for almost four years now. And some people greet meand say a few things, but, mostly I can,t make chat roo friends and after at least half an hour of chatting and responding and telling jokes,I log out because no one talks to me. I once went to a church for 2 months and got ignored so we stopped going. I feel uncomfortable to talk after several minutes so I say nothing but hope to be befriended. So I guess I,ll try other christian chats. Again! :)

You are 67 years old and stay worried over someone not befriending you? How long has this dark cloud been hovering over you? Without the internet as your source of 'friendship" meetings, how do you handle human contact in your daily living? I would be very curious to hear these answers. It would explain how a person can become too dependent on cyber space to produce instant likable friends who really aren't your friends that can be there for you should you need a hug or shoulder to cry upon. Too many people are just bored and turn to the modern technology of a chatroom and think that this is the greatest substitute for meeting people. Whatever happened to walks in the park, waving and saying hello to strangers, and associating with others in person? How can you help someone if you sit within your four walls and communicate via internet only?

I'm very sorry you feel this way Laird1. I'm new here myself, just started today. I'm basically a shy person when it's face-to-face, but I find it very easy to talk to people online. Do you participate in the forums? Do you reach out to other people, or do you wait for them to initiate the contact? I'm sure that a lot of people are busy in their own lives, and may just not be able to be in contact constantly. Then there are those, like me, who are at home day and night and have the time. What are your interests? hobbies? your testimony? books read? Share, please!

God has really blessed me with a new life and a new heart. I'm alive because he lives in me now! He has changed my life in many ways! I've been raised to serve the Lord but I'm so glad that I really have him in my life!
