The Account according to John translated in the English Standard Version
1:47 Jesus saw Nathanael coming toward him and said of him, "Behold, an Israelite indeed, in whom there is no deceit!"
1:48 Nathanael said to him, "How do you know me?" Jesus answered him, "Before Philip called you, when you were under the fig tree, I saw you."
1:49 Nathanael answered him, "Rabbi, you are the Son of God! You are the King of Israel!"
1:50 Jesus answered him, "Because I said to you, 'I saw you under the fig tree,' do you believe? You will see greater things than these."
1:51 And he said to him, "Truly, truly, I say to you, you will see heaven opened, and the angels of God ascending and descending on the Son of Man."
I love that part, it is the inspiration behind my name.

Hi, the peace of the Lord be with you. My name is Alexander, and I've actually found this website on Googly. A sister of mine, a prophet and a friend, suggested that I should join some type of group where I can do good and also where I can be helped in whatever I may need. Online is all I can do for now, and just a single search led me here, so I figure I would, if anything, start here first.

I've been with the Lord since early 2008, I do not know the exact date. At the beginning it was simple, I had a ESV Outreach New Testament, and I read it as much as I could, I wanted to learn about Jesus. Then I found some videos that led me into Calvinism, then after that into Oneness, and all of that just complicated things. My life from then has been quite a ride, up and down, left and right. I have now just resolved to not get into the meat until I am fully established in the milk and bread, and when it is time to let the Lord gives me the meat. If you like to learn more about where I am right now, I will gladly tell ya, just not in this post.

I play guitar, not the best at it but I am definitely learning and getting better. I also play chess and read. I like to partake of things that don't destroy my mind lol.

I do have my own beliefs, but I am not one who list a statement of faith. So perhaps I should just post this.

1 Corinthians 2:2 (ESV)
For I decided to know nothing among you except Jesus Christ and him crucified.

I am not yet exercising the calling He has given me, but I do know He is preparing me for it. Other than that, I cannot think of anything else to put down, it's 5:33 am so I probably should hit the sack lol.

If you respond to this, I appreciate the thought and hope I can know you, not just as a friend but as a brother/sister. If you choose not to, that is fine, I'm not someone important enough to receive responses (-:

I think that's it, so God bless you guys, and I hope to see you soon.

Hi Alexander, welcome to Christian Chat :). Hope you enjoy being here; there's so many different things being talked about on this site. I'd recommend staying away from the Bible Discussion Forum, though.....um, a lot of people only go there to argue, and it often ends up like the things you said that you're trying to avoid (vain disputings and all).

Hi, Alexander, good to have you here :). I like the verse you gave, that is a very wise position to take. I like discussing theological matters with friends (come, let us reason together), but The Gospel is one of very few things that I'll really go to the mat over. Drop me a PM if you ever want to discuss anything. As steel sharpens steel.......;) -Nichole
