I have several questions for you about the Chinese language. Since you live in northeastern China, your language is Mandarin. Do you understand Cantonese? Are not the characters (letters) used with the two languages the same, only the enunciation (speaking) different ?

Also the characters used. Are traditional characters still taught in school today or only the simplied Chinese characters? I believe Taiwan uses only traditional characters and Mandarin.
