Hi! I joined this site in July but then never came back until I got an automated e-mail the other day. Anyway, I never made one of these introduction posts.

I've was raised in a Protestant home and have been walking the straight and narrow since I about about six. I've been a lot of places and have seen the many faces of humanity- from the starving child in rural Africa to the wealthy CEO on Wall Street. I have a heart for history and deep love for theology.

At any rate, it's nice to meet you all, please let me know if you have any questions! :)

Welcome back AlienX. I wouldn't be around when you first took up residency here.
It appears we share the same work experiences, except I get involved with the UK equivalent of Wall Street; usually when FX Traders or Brokers have been naughty!
It would also be interesting to compare notes on your time in Africa. I spent 5 years in the resettlement camps of South Sudan with the DEC as well as in Ethiopia- also with education & primary health
projects in Peru, Lebanon, Kampuchea (as Cambodia was then) & Laos.

Very interesting! A few years ago I became acquainted with Jon Dau, a Sudanese gentleman who is now the president of the Jon Dau Foundation. Jon told me about his journey during the Sudanese Civil Wars, walking many miles to escape into refugee camps in countries offering safety for refugees such as Kenya. I have not actually been to Sudan though, as the mission I was working on was based in Kenya.

Hi AlienX

In Ethiopia I was Deputy Ccountry Rep @ UNHCR refugee camps in Sheder & Awbarre. I moved between the two, depending on the influx who were fleeing the situation in Somalia.
In South Sudan J was based @ Juba.

It really would be interesting (can't say "enjoyable" in this context!) to compare notes of our experiences.
