Hi, my name is Charity. I always find it's best to be honest upfront, so here goes... I am a liberal, I find myself generally frustrated with the church and western Christianity, I believe in evolution, I'm not sure I believe in hell, and I am an open theist...am I still welcome here? Is there anyone else who doesn't fit into the traditional evangelical mold, or am I the only one?

I don't know what makes you assume I haven't given my life to Christ. I don't think a belief in a literal hell is required in order to have a relationship with Jesus.

You're a liberal, call yourself a thiest, and distance yourself from Christianity, and doubt one of the main tenants of Christianity, but seem surprised people think you haven't given your life to Christ. While there are Christians that share some of these beliefs, combining all these beliefs, with the general tone of your post, leaves it to assume you have not accepted Christ.

As i stated, to answer your original post, there are some here who share some of your beliefs as well. But this is a predominately traditional Christian site.

Greetings Charity.

Although you possess views from the liberal theology camp, you are still welcome here. However we ask that you relinquish your Bible (if you have one) and that you only write posts in the "Miscellaneous" threads (since "Miscellaneous" is the phrased used by liberal theologians when asked what needs to be believed in to be a Christian).

I'm just kidding Charity!!! Please do not take anything I just said seriously (I happen to enjoy religious humor - lol).

Welcome to CC. And in spite of your views being a minority on this site, I hope you can find a place here and enjoy your time.

Good one Descyple! Ugly- saying i believe in open theism does not make me a theist. If I wanted to say I was an unbeliever/not a christian, that is what i would have said. Instead I stated some theological beliefs that put me apart from a large group of christians, and I wanted to make certain I would not be judged for them on this site. It seems that you have proved me wrong by somehow, magically deciphering the inner contents of my relationship with jesus withought knowing a thing about me other than a few surface beliefs. Thanks for that, it didn't hurt at all, i promise(insert sarcasm here)
