Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the LORD your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you." Deut. 31:6

Take that to heart, and live without fear no longer. Godspeed

Yes, it is. And I'm going to be straight foward with you. Living the Christian life is not all cherry blossoms and rainbows. There are trials every step of the way, people that hate you, persecution down every corner, but the difference is,
You now have a G-d that carries you through all of that.

What does a leap look like?
Well,
What are you holding on to?
What makes you doubt? What are some material things you think you could never part with if any?
There aren't any material things, it's more of rejection that I fear, never being accepted. I doubt because I don't feel God's presence, that or i don't see the love of God in others. I read about it , but wonder where it is today. I'm grateful I came across this site though, it gives me hope

Thank you for the verse, I hope with all my heart he truly never leaves me.

Hi there! Welcome to CC, Lost and want to be found.

I'm sure many here will be able to help you along the way. Do you have questions you'd like to ask?

This is the forum here, but there are actual voices in chat. Here you have to type and wait for an answer. There you can ask and get an answer right away. I would suggest going to the bible study room if you want to try the chat rooms.

And yes, God loves you and He died for you and calls you to come to Him in repentance. You must be hearing His voice, maybe it's the time right now for you to answer Him. :)

It's not good to compare your life with others because not all of us will have the exact same life. I'd be pretty depressed too if I compared my life to others without the Lord in my life. Well actually now that I do have the Lord, I make it a point not to compare my life with others. We're all so unique and it's a gift and a blessing. We just need the eyes to see the blessing in our turmoil. Not for the difficulty, but for the beauty that comes out of the ashes.

He gave me beauty for ashes,
The oil of joy for mourning,
The garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness,
That we might be, trees of righteousness,
The planting of the Lord.
That He might be glorified.

Do you have family that are believers, friends?

You may want to find a new church if the one you're going to doesn't have time to discipleship you.

As you have already seen, it's not hard to post in any of the threads or you can begin a new thread to ask questions and find answers.

But again, please try out the chat rooms too, because like I said, they can talk to you right away and even pray with you. You can do both the forum and the chat rooms.

And again, welcome!!! We're pleased to have you here!
I guess I want to know who Jesus is, and someone to guide me in learning about him and being a Christian

Throw away fear, throw away doubt, all of it, and with all of your heart and mind, spend some time just sitting and talk to Him.
Are you ready to trust 100%? It's sooo hard to, I don't even trust 100% yet, which is why I doubt. Go look at the Bible, there are those that trusted G-d with all their heart and mind, if He took something away, or put them in an awful place they look to Him and trust that He knows what he is doing. Then there are those who believe in G-d until they are in a bad spot. Until He asks them to do something difficult.
There is a difference between being a Christian and having a true relationship with God.
Having a true relationship with G-d is taking the leap, saying, I am the most dependent person I know, alone I can do nothing, but through You I can do all things. Or G-d, I haven't been able to feel your presence for a while now, you have sent no sign, but I trust fully that you are there for me and you are waiting for the perfect time, you will save and rescue me from any trial this world gives.

The reason I say you can't take baby steps to that spot, is because until you have a true relationship with G-d doubt will come, and you won't have the faith the work through it.
Trials will come, and all you will see is His absence isn't of His waiting to save you.
He will ask you to do something, and like Jonnah, you will doubt Him and go the other way.

This world hardwires us to think we have to rely on ourselves (and I'm not saying go be stupid and jump in front of a train thinking G-d will save you) but we can't rely on ourselves. That's not how this works. Through abuse, through poverty, through plenty, and whatever you have or are going through we have to rely 100% on G-d to get us through abuse unscathed in Him, to provide us with food, to provide us with full faith even if we have much.

That is what taking a leap looks like.

You only perceive that others are having it easier than you but the truth is that some of these people may be morally bankrupt. I understand about you doubting God but it seems that the reason for this is that you feel abandoned during this rough period of your life. God is very real, He loves you and will neither leave you or forsake you. I have said a prayer for your situation. Glad to have you as a member of our family. Welcome to CC.

God loves you more than you can imagine. We all go through our own personal trials and tribulations in life but as long we rely on Christ he will help us overcome anything.

I guess I want to know who Jesus is, and someone to guide me in learning about him and being a Christian
Hello again! :)

The poem is actually a song based off of Isaiah 61:1-3 and it's speaking of our Lord and Savior, Jesus whom you're asking about.

The Spirit of the Lord God is on Me,
because the Lord has anointed Me
to bring good news to the poor.
He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted,
to proclaim liberty to the captives
and freedom to the prisoners;
to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor,
and the day of our God’s vengeance;
to comfort all who mourn,
to provide for those who mourn in Zion;
to give them a crown of beauty instead of ashes,
festive oil instead of mourning,
and splendid clothes instead of despair.
And they will be called righteous trees,
planted by the Lord
to glorify Him.

How much do you know about Jesus? What have you been taught? Have you ever prayed for Jesus to come into your life and have you repented of your sins?

Hi, I'm new to this. I have tried countless of times to find a mentor to guide me towards Christ at my church but no one is ever available. I guess I either have bad luck or we live during times were people are too busy. So, I feel like this is my last resort because finding Christ alone and walking through this journey alone leaves my bones feeling dry. I want to believe in Jesus. But Im not even sure if I Believe. My life has been rough. And I see others having it so much easier and i wonder if God even loves me or if he is even real at this point. ...help, just help please. ...
The first thing I would suggest is that you believe. You should read the Bible and gain an understanding of the Lord. You should understand that he loves you and only wants what is best for you.

But what does it say? “The word is near you, in your mouth and in your heart”—that is, the word of faith which we are preaching, that if you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved; for with the heart a person believes, resulting in righteousness, and with the mouth he confesses, resulting in salvation. For the Scripture says, “Whoever believes in Him will not be disappointed.” Romans !0:8-11

I
really love your prayer that you shared. I will be using this and taking that leap of faith cause otherwise I will be succumbed with fear and doubt.

Thank
you so much for the prayer. It is much needed. And yes, I do feel as if God has abandoned me...Why do the evil prosper, I keep wondering...Please keep praying for me that I may fully understand God's love for me!

What
I know about Jesus is that he was man/God (hard for me to fully grasp still) who came to die for me. I guess thats the hard part to grasp...If he died for me, why do I keep sinning? Why do I still feel so far from him? Am I just hopeless? Will I never change? I want to believe with my whole heart he is real. I truly do want my life to be a reflection of his purpose, but deep down I feel so discouraged and afraid that he isn't there. I have said the prayer to myself countless of times wondering if I will ever see a change in me.
