So I randomly stumbled upon this website and it looks like this will be a pretty interesting experience. Looking forward to posting and otherwise talking about Jesus!

Some other information about me.... I've been a Christian since about 2006. My brain is a storehouse of a ton of random knowledge. I pretty much listen to only Christian music of all genres and I have a ton of favorite artists. I attend college at Saginaw Valley State University for social work, should have my bachelor's degree in a year, and am considering going for my master's. I've worked at a Christian summer camp for 4 years and plan to go back to a 5th because I love reaching out to kids for Christ. I can be pretty random and goofy at times, and other times I have a tendency to be alone and to myself.

That's all I can think of right now. Looking forward to hearing from other's later!

Hello Delerion, I am Elle. I also randomly came across this website and I am excited to meet other like-minded people who love to talk about Christ. I am forever searching for more knowledge, because I love to learn. I do listen to other music as well, but nothing that would be offensive, and the majority of my music collection is still Christian. I got dragged two years ago into a Bible Camp to be a counsellor there, and I barely knew anything about the Bible at the time. I felt I needed to be more "spiritual" or more "knowledgeable" in order to work with these kids. As soon as I got there, any doubt I had before vanished. I love working with kids of all ages, and I love to teach. They have this way of helping me see the world in a completely different way. As an adult, I feel sometimes I can be narrow-minded but this helps me work past that. Now I work with the children's ministry at my church on Sundays, and I interpret for the Deaf on Saturdays. I'm not completely sure where God is calling me to be yet job-wise, but I am trusting in Him to lead me to where He wants me to go.

You learn so much about yourself and your faith by counseling camp. I would not be the same without the experiences I had there (and will have!). I love learning as well and in that regard I am very much into apologetics.

One of Satan's biggest weapons for me is making me feel like I'm not spiritual enough or that I'll just screw things up, even with everyone I'm involved in. But it's something I have to be bold about and step out of my comfort zone. I know God will see me through and He has.

I'm involved with Intervarsity Christian Fellowship leading a Bible study and being an intern with Youth for Christ. So needless to say, I'm glad to be involved in so much for once because it's getting me out of my comfort zone and allowing me to experience some pretty awesome spiritual growth and teaching to trust God more. So Satan can make me feel fearful about this all he wants. I'm just done with that. I'm pushing on with God because I know doing these things will be a positive faith experience for me.

I'm reminded of a few times when I felt God was asking me to do something that I felt was far too big for me. My prayer to Him that gave me encouragement during such times was that Christ's love would shine through me to fill in any gaps from where I am, to where I need to be in order to reach these people. He showed up in a huge way for me, and I hope He continues to work through you to reach young children. What an opportunity you have! And stepping out in faith regardless of whether or not you are comfortable with it. Another thing that helped me is to memorize a few key Bible verses. I'm sure you have heard this before but it truly does help :)

Yeah, it does help. Reading the Bible and memorizing scripture is something I've been slipping with lately, but I know it works because I've done it before. I'm sure you're making a huge impact with the kids you work with too. It's easy to take for granted how much of an impact we can make on someone for the rest of their lives. Sometimes we have the honor of having someone tell us. Most of the time that isn't so though. I think one of the coolest things about heaven will be seeing the true extent of how we influenced them for Jesus (as well as the people they've gone on to influence because we influenced them). For I had a childhood without Christ and was bullied a lot among other things and becoming a Christian was the most freeing experience of my life. That's ultimately why I'm drawn so strongly to work with youth because I know how much Christ helped me, and I want them to know that experience as well.
