I suspect that the problems were with the administrator himself. He could administrate just fine, but the Moderation part came hard to him, I think. He did a lot of things without any real explanation that cut into the heart of what had become a close knit community. He rarely shared why he did certain things to the community so if we needed to change behavior in some way we were really in the dark. On a lighter note, I'll just say that when I posted that it was sinful to say anything negative about hamburgers... maybe that was the last straw ;). Chris should have had a few Moderators working the Board from day to day. He could have simply kept an eye on the Moderators and guided them where he felt he needed to (since it was his board).
@RoboOp and all the Mods:
I want to express my deep appreciation for all our Administration and Moderators right now. You are loved and will receive a great reward someday.

P.S. I would also like to put in a good word for @Evmur and all the other hamburgers onsite. :giggle:

Please pray for the former members of Rapture Forums, especially for those whom our community was like family.
That's a great idea. I will do so. Thanks for reminding me to pray. (y)

The first forum/chat site I participated in as a Christian was myspace, and it also went bye-bye, but we had plenty of warning, as the site was to be sold, and then it was reclaimed for its original purpose, which was for musicians to connect with other musicians. When that happened, all the boards were deleted. It was a secular site, though, with very little Christian moderation; however, the Religion forum was very active! Over a period of four years I spoke mostly with non-believers of many stripes, and was pretty new in my Christian walk in those days. Facebook had not yet become as popular as it eventually did. When myspace shut down near the end of 2011, I eventually went to CARM, which is a Christian run site with extensive sub-forums. I again spent most of my time there speaking with non-believers, before joining here almost eight years ago. CARM's owner joined us here for a very short time, also.

I peeked at your profile, and saw your favourite verses are from Hebrews 4:1-11.
I have not designed a panel based on anything from 1-11, but there is this:

Hebrews 4:12
:)
Wow that is so beautiful - thank you! Nice to hear your history too. I had forgotten about MySpace!

Lol, Hi @ANDIAMO, good to see you and @MissyM!

I agree with the above, I actually found this site by googling TT's screen name! I recalled that he mentioned Ronny (SeatedWithChrist) had moved to another board with more open permissions, so I figured TT might be there, or would show up somewhere.

Thank you to all the CC'ers who have so kindly welcomed us!

I wonder if we could make a thread with a searchable title as a signpost for other members?

______________

@Magenta, I use Adobe Creative Suite apps mainly, but a few years back discovered Procreate which is amazing on iPad with the pencil. I use that mainly for sketching ideas, notes, etc, but occasionally for finished work. One of these days I will get around to making Scripture typography posters. Two ideas in the hopper are "Tetelestai", maybe in Greek characters, and "Via, Veritas, Vita", then with their verses integrated.
Good to see you, and everyone. That is a really great idea, making a thread with a searchable title. Yes, I Googled "Tall Timbers Christian Rapture" I'm pretty sure. I was panicked!
Was wondering what happened to Ronny. Glad he's OK and posting somewhere.
I agree - Thanks everyone for being so kind and welcoming.

That post about hamburgers I took as nothing more than a lighthearted joke. Laughter is good medicine.

Personally I didn’t care for the way Lovin Jesus was treated. It was obvious she had issues that could have been dealt with by a moderator.

I suspect Matt. 5:4 had a difference of opinion with the forum administrator over this. Of course some of my overly opinionated posts may have contributed too.

I suspect my avatar was offensive to a Alabama fan.
I feel badly that I continued to break a rule once in a while. My memory hasn't been the same since Covid. We aren't robots!
What's really sad though is that Chris was posting and interacting a lot more than in the past, and it was great to hear from him.
I did a shout-out to Lovin Jesus (who had become a dear friend to me) after she disappeared and I got a message from him saying that she had moved on and to not mention her anymore! I was so bothered that I couldn't even say goodbye & begged him to pass on a message from me. Wonder if she ever received it.
And losing Matt. 5:4 was a huge loss, probably the beginning of the end now that I think about it.

I am curious
due to the name of your former forum... were discussions mainly on end time events, or... ?
Hi Magenta. Most of the people there were really interested in Eschatology, so there was a tremendous feeling of unity and purpose there, it felt like a family gathering. There was also a current affairs sub forum to discuss news items from a biblical perspective and a prayer requests forum, which was really valuable. Some of the folks I think were vulnerable, disabled or with health challenges, isolated or on their own, or not able to find a local church, so it was a lifeline for many. It would be heart-breaking for them to log in and suddenly find their support network was gone. God willing many will find their way here, a new, welcoming spiritual home. God Bless You :)

Thank you! I earned a lot while I was at myspace, and had a lot of fun, too; it was very challenging,
as I had never been in an environment before where I was so hated simply for my religious beliefs.

And of course, my religious beliefs were pretty new to me at the time, also! I had a lot to learn .:D

Sounds like a much more focused forum that what we have here... though we have a sub forum dedicated
to prayers and etc, which no doubt you have seen
.:). It sounds like many of you were fairly close to one
another, having established bonds that sound like what we are supposed to have with each other as
Christians. True family ties... no wonder you are all in shock at its sudden demise and grieving the loss
.

And Eschatology is certainly discussed in depth here! Just not by me .;):unsure::giggle:

Those colors are so pretty. I don't know why I cut verse 12 off when I put that in my profile. Have anything from John Chap 15? That is my other favorite.

I only have this one, but am always on the lookout for verses that will inspire the next panel .:D

I'm not sure how to move on. Been looking at other forums and so many lovely people but at this time in my life I just don't have the energy to defend or attempt to persuade on my pre-trib position. I just want to be able to discuss end-time events without being questioned (or worse) about it. We had that, and now it's gone. :(

No need for an apology. I was simply trying to reconnect with some brothers and sisters in Christ whom I’ve become friends with through RR and RF.

I too found this forum by TT mentioning Seated With Christ finding another forum that still allowed PM like RR did. I miss those personal connections too!

I would also like to Thank CC for having us join their forum.

It's not gone, dear friend. I and many others are pre-trib. Many express weird ideas about many things, but this just provides a dark backdrop to shine the light in front of. Be of good cheer, my friend! ;)(y):coffee:

I have to agree with Oyster above. We have had forum shakeups before. We don't necessarily need to defend or persuade, and certainly not to the point of angry arguments, nor are we here for any agenda other than fellowship and being among the like minded who share faith in Christ.

Gaining a better understanding of prophecy and end times evidences the reality of God, that He is sovereign, in control and the outcome of all things will be "happily ever after". He's told us in advance so that when it comes to pass, we'll know He is Who He says He Is. It helps us make sense of the non-sensical happenings in the world. When we see how He has kept His promises to Israel over millennia, we know He will keep His promises to the Church. If I thought we were going to have to be going through Jacob's Trouble, I would be downcast, fearful, and buying up weapons and food and digging me a hole in a rock somewhere. Instead, we have a blessed hope, and can look at this world and know "things are not falling apart, but falling into place", as foretold.

We don't necessarily need to defend or persuade,
I guess if challenged I could always just post a link to a video. It's nice that we can actually do that here.
Oh and agendas - I could write a book on that one. That's how my church split that I mentioned up-thread. A bunch of people, who all knew each other, came into the church with an agenda and destroyed the church. Terrible, and I'd rather die than do that to someone else.
