Hello everyone!

I'm Gwen, 21 years old, university student from The Netherlands. I got saved 7 months ago, in the beginning of January 2017. I was born and raised in a christian family, went to a christian elementary school. After that I went to a public highshool, and due to that and other reasons, i renounced Christianity at age 12. I then had a period of 9 years where i went into agnosticism, then into New Age, the occult, witchcraft, satanism, et cetera, when eventually i gave up my search for truth and mentally ''dropped dead in a pit'', so to speak. Thats when God came into my life. He saw me laying there, and I believe He allowed me roam around in the darkness for all those years. He came down and pulled me up from the pit I was in. I was not looking for Him at all, since christianity was the first belief i ever rejected. God found me, not the other way around. And I'm eternally grateful for that. (If you're interested in more details, I'm more than happy to share them with you.)

In past half year God has taught and showed me many things, about myself, the world, and most of all, Jesus. I love seeing Jesus and God's plan everywhere in the bible, down to the details or even names of people. My favorite books in the bible are the wisdom and poetry books, the prophetic books and the book(s) of John. I also love Jonah, for it's satirical nature.

In my walk with God I try to be the best I can, which sometimes gets hard with my tendencies towards perfectionism. It took a while for me to fully understand that I can't be good enough for God to accept me on my own merit, and now, I'm thanking God that He doesn't let salvation depend on us. I wouldn't be able to save myself even if my soul depended on it (and it does)! What Jesus did for us is the most beautiful thing ever, and sometimes i find it hard to understand how so many people in the world can be against it. But God also tells us that is is how the world will be, so I find comfort in that.

In my area (and friends and family) there are barely any christians (or they are lukewarm which i don't like), so I look for likeminded people online. I'm very happy to have found people here who are standing on the Word of God, you are all part of the light in this dark, fallen world. I am honored to be a part of your community.

I hope to meet many other people in the faith and make a couple friends while we are at it :)

Thanks for reading!
***greetings from Texas***I bet Jonah never ate fish again...
