Hi there. I've been looking for a place to maybe find some dialogue with some other Christians and it looks like this might be just the place. Well I don't want to bore you with too many details, but I'm 30 and was raised in the United Methodist Church. Now I have a 4 year old daughter from a previous marriage and am married again. When it came time to consider sending her to pre-school to develop social skills, the best one I could find in town was run by a Baptist church. It's an EXCELLENT school, but well we moved out of town but not too far so we're going to let her finish out the year there and will be enrolling her in a closer one next year which is Presbyterian. My wife was raised Roman Catholic, but we were married at my old United Methodist church, a VERY small congregation in a VERY old church building, and for added strangeness, a South Korean minister! The man is Awesome, perhaps a little hard to understand at times because of his accent, but a genuinely good man who came from a wealthy family but gave up riches to pursue what I suppose he felt was his calling. So I respect him for that. For years I have only gone for Easter, Christmas and homecoming, but I think now is the time to change that. I miss the music, the inspirational message, the people (albeit not that many at this particular country church). Some of my best childhood memories are Sunday school there and at another church in the charge. I'm glad my daughter will be able to experience it herself. Naturally, there will come a time when she will have to decide for herself what religion, if any, she will follow, but in the mean time, she'll have fun at both pre-school and church, she enjoys them both a lot. I would never want to deprive her of that. There have been a few critical times in my life where I had to make decisions, and the teachings of Jesus compelled me to make the correct ones. Had I made the wrong decisions at those critical times, I could well be dead or in jail about now. I won't go into the details, but doing the right thing can keep you out of a whole heap of trouble.

Anyway yeah, United Methodist, Roman Catholic, Baptist, Presbyterian, I guess we're kind of all over the place! lol. No matter, I figure. Christ is Christ, however the customs and traditions differ, the message is the same.

So anyway, wow I sure rambled a lot, sorry for that, my mind's been going a mile a minute all day, but that's me in a nutshell. Happy belated (on the US East coast anyway) Easter everyone. Christ is risen, and spring is the time of rebirth and new beginnings.
