My mom and dad fly south for winter and they've been there a week. My dad has been an atheist through and through my whole life, but a sober alcoholic since I was like 2. My mom just text me that she went to church, something we prayed about on the phone yesterday. My mom introduced me to The Lord she I was 22 and utterly lost. My dad has never gone to church and even would go so far as to get angry if you asked him to. Talk about Jesus to him and he leaves the room. Runs from the room, actually.

She asked him to go this morning and he did. The message was on conflict resolution. I looked at it online and the church looks good. She's been praying for him for over 30 years and I a have as well. We'd appreciate any prayers anyone is willing to throw up for my dad's salvation.

It's hard having a family member who isn't saved.

Praying that your father will get a personal revelation about Jesus Christ, and see's the truth of Grace of what Jesus done for him. If anyone says, "I love God," yet hates his brother, he is a liar. For anyone who does not love his brother, whom he has seen, cannot love God, whom he has not seen. And he has given us this command: Whoever loves God must also love his brother, for God is love."

Quick update. Jamming out FaceTime with my mom tonight and she says, "Oh did I tell you dad went to church with me again?" Ummmm, no.

Saturday night he told her he isn't interested in going again and she just said ok. I mean he's never gone to church with her. Never…not in over 30 years. So Sunday morning as she's getting ready he tells her he's decided to go again with her. Ummmm, yes. Yes Lord. Yes Lord. Yes Lord.

So no expectations. No words or prodding from me. My hope is just God convicting his heart, drawing him in.

Hebrews 4:12-13,

For the word of God is living and active, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.
13 And there is no creature hidden from His sight, but all things are naked and open to the eyes of Him to whom we must give account.

Praise the Lord!

Prayer & Praise Update #2:
-- Texts --
Mom: Just got back from church
Me: How was it? Solo?
Mom: Good, together.
Me: Oh mom. I prayed so hard last night
Like…phew I don't know but I got
tears in my eyes now.
Mom: That's how I am in in service
but I don't want to make a fuss

Thank you to all who have lifted my father and
his family up in prayer. Been holding to Acts 16:31

Uh….Jesus!

Hi 38Miles - My father-in-law was exactly the same. An atheist, and an alcoholic. When I met my husband he was still that way inclined. After many years of prayer by my mother-in-law - he went to church and God reached into his heart in such a way that he turned to God. Now a good couple of years later, he's sober, and saved.

Our Father in heaven, we come to you today to lay this man before you, you know his ways, you know his struggles you also know the conflict he has carried in his heart all these years, conflict on your existence and the Truth of You. Father the fact that you've awakened him to dare to go church with his Wife is already a sign that you have never given up on him and that you will continue to complete the work you started in his life until the end of days. In faith and as one we lay his life at your feet lord. Touch him, heal him, set a fire to rise within him, a Glorious most holy fire so that his coming to Christ will be a testimony to others. I also pray for his Son, and his Wife, who through the years prayed for his salvation, bless them, guide them and keep them in the palm of your hand. We ask this in your precious name Jesus. Amen
