My boundaries have been really damaged by abuse and by never having been taught what healthy boundaries are. I am seeing the extent of the damage in my life. I didn't realize that this is such a big issue for me and now I am overwhelmed by the problem. I just pray that God can help me as I move through counseling to gain better boundaries and to be able to create a healthy thriving life filled with meaningful relationships and love.

Praying for all you ask in Jesus.
As an abuse survivor and overcomer, I understand the challanges you have, I just wanted to let you know you are on the right path for healing. :)
The most effective part of healing for me, was when I looked in Jesus, to God Our Father as my Father.
He healed my heart with His unfailing love, and taught me to trust again.
He also taught me to understand the boundries you spoke to. :)
Just talk to God Our Father, He trully is the perfect father who will delight you with His love. :)

God bless

Okay, first of all, I really want to call you Beth(=HouseofGod.) ;)

Joking aside, boundaries are a tough issue, as I also know from personal experience. So I pray for you, sister, with a little bit of understanding what you suffer. :(
I pray the Lord will be with you in counseling, and that His wisdom be given both to your counselor and especially to y-o-u. I know how faithful He is, and expect great things for you.

HouseholdofGod,

There is a good book for you to read.

Boundaries By: Henry Cloud and John Townsed

The Gold Medallion award-winning Christian book, by two psychologists who've written a number of self-help guides, offers a realistic, compassionate plan for setting healthy boundaries with family, friends, and co-workers.

I have read it and it is very good.
I will put you and your family in my prayers...
In His Love, Shekaniah
