Sucre,
Hey man. It's not long ago that I also began to hear the voice of God saying to me, "seek me". It's Him that has put this on your heart and in your mind. He call to us by His Spirit...somehow...I don't think we can quite grasp that...but He does it. I was reading this post, then did some other surfing online and ran across this little bit on the website for the church that I attend. Here's what it said:
"One last thing about the word new – God makes all things new. In fact, for those who enter into a relationship with God through Jesus, the Bible says that you will "become a new person. The old life is gone; a new life has begun!" (2 Cor. 5:17). May God's work of new-ness be at work in you!"
I guess if I had anything to say about beginning to seek God is to know this. That all the mistakes me have made, all the misery and pain we have caused ourselves by our carelessness and pride...all that....and I mean ALL....is made new....fresh....as if it never happened. Sure there will be lasting consequences for the things we've made mistakes in, that's just logical. But In Christ, we are made new....new creations...and with Jesus alive in us we have hope. Hope that we will do better from now on, hope that He will carry us through all the hard times (and there will be hard times, just as there are for every person alive today) But....we have hope. His name is our strong tower....a place of comfort and rest, a place of defense, a place to find refuge during the troubles that come against us.
As far as the east is from the west...and think about that...how far is that? You can go north to the point where it turns to south again, and vice-versa...but east.....keep going east and you will forever go east....there is no stopping point where it turns to west again, same with going west....anyway...as far as east is from the west....that's how far away God put our sins, indiscretions, carelessness, darkness from us when we cry out in faith to Jesus to save us, when we see that He died, once, so that the "many" (all of us) don't have to bear that punishment. He was destroyed for us, wrecked, beaten, and killed....so that we could go free. His death provides forgiveness of our sins. And that's not even the end of it. He only stayed in that tomb for a short time. He was raised from the dead, He is alive...and so now are we that believe on His name, to walk in that newness of life...our sins left in the grave, the old life, our "old men"...the old us....in the grave...left there. With Christ alive in us we are now free to live as He calls us to.
In Christ we rejoice that we are free. In Him we find great encouragement through time with others of like faith. In Him.
May His Spirit work in you to seek Him. May He put in you the desire to do His will, and give you the ability to do so. God bless you bro.
