Dan,
I will keep you in prayer. Not for the decision, but for you to have peace. When you have peace, the decision will be an easy one. One of the best pieces of advice I can give is from a very special person.
When I was young in the Lord I was having trouble dealing with a person at work who always seemed to have something bad to say about me. She seemed to hate me for some reason and I couldn't understand it because I never did any wrong to her. She always got mad at me when I tried to help and hated when I tried to show her how to do things at work. It finally brought me to tears and massive frustation because I just couldn't understand what I had done wrong.
The advice my friend gave me...
Tell her you love her
When I did, things began to change and we actually started helping each other and I started to grow in faith because it helped me to see God's Word in action. Doing this all through my walk has helped to me to reach a confidence level I never had before. In the past have been judged for the way I pray, the way I worship, the way I share God's word and each time I handled it the same way. I also came to understand that it is God that I need to worry about pleasing, not man... and if God is for me NO man can stand against me!
You need to grow in faith, trust in God and tell the next person... "I love you". Step out of the box you are holding yourself in. Find true followers of the Lord to be around that will help and encourage you to strive for a higher place. And learn to forgive... Here is a thought the Lord once put on my heart. I pray it helps you to move forward in your walk and BE BLESSED BY THE BEST!
For the day of the Lord draws near on all the nations. As you have done, it will be done to you. Your dealings will return on your own head. Obadiah 1:15
We are each responsible for our own actions and words. We will not be penalized for the actions of others, but we will be held accountable for our own actions and words. God sees everything we do and hears everything we say, and we are so blessed that we have an awesome forgiving God, but we must be willing to drop the pride and admit our wrong doing in order to be forgiven. That includes the wrong of not forgiving others.
It is time to forgive those who have hurt you and love them the way God desires you to. There are times when it is extremely difficult to forgive when we have been hurt so very badly, but we will not be able to learn and grow in love unless we do. What is past will always be a part of you, but you can use that event to help another. Trust that God will heal the wounds and take that burden off your heart and forgive.
