Hey guys,
I am new to this site and still trying to get used to it
I was wandering if you would be willing to pray for my depression...
I've been fighting with it for like 7 years now and tbh i've had enough of it...
It went away for a while but im in a place at the moment where I feel as though my struggles are becoming non stop...
Maybe one day I will go deeper into my life and testimony etc but its so long to explain!
I would really appreciate the prayer though!!
Thanks! & God bless!

Definitely praying for you lou_bone! I battled bad depression a long time before as well and it still tries to creep up, but just try to meditate on God's word constantly which brings life and peace (Romans 8:6). It surely helps =]

You can overcome anything through Christ who strengthens you! I too struggled with depression and even suicide attempts. It took me many yrs to overcome it. It was like a huge shadow that would follow me and oppress me. You cannot go by your emotions, you need to take over your emotions for Jesus has given you authority to overcome them! Rebuke those thoughts in Jesus name. And don't think you are alone for many great men from the bible suffered from depression and they were to be great men of God!

My prayers are with you. blessings!

THE FIERY DARTS OF DESTRUCTION IS DEPRESSION, WHICH IS NOT OF THE LORD, "FOR THE JOY OF THE LORD IS OUR STRENGHT" IT DRAINS OF STRENGHT, HOPE AND SELF WORTH. LET THE MEDITATION OF MY HEART, AND THE WORDS OF MY MOUTH BE PLEASING UNTO THEE OH LORD" VERSE FROM THE BIBLE. AS A PERSON THINKETH IN HIS HEART SO HE IS. THINK ON THE WORDS OF THE LORD, IN JESUS NAME. AMEN

I'll pray, definitely. But I"ll tell you one thing that does help with depression, is reading the word out loud. I've given this advice numerous times. I have a permanent bookmark for 1 Peter - chapter 4 and 5.

Every time I'm down, I read that passage out loud. Most of the time, I yell it out.

FAther please consider your servant and child lou. You know his suffering. YOu did tell us that we could expect suffering in this world. I do remember years ago when I had spend so many days coming home crying...the one friday when you showed me...
I was just crying out to you in such horrible desparation, I was lonly depressed and hurting and had been that way for so long. As i prayed suddenly three examples came into my mind, and your words love one another, love others as myself and do everyting in love. YOu know how instantly I went from that crying mess to a smiling cheerful shock like i had jsut been struck by heling lightening. the examples you gave me were all times i had gone out of my way to love others. And your words were so simple, I was always happy when i was loving others. Father I pray that you teach lou the same things you have taught me. Give him the peace and comfort you have given me and the annointing of the oil of joy. IN your sons name I pray.

When I faced depression, it was my decision that it was caused by my thoughts. Don't know if that is right or not, but I decided that if my thoughts made me feel like this, I would use God's thoughts. I was home with a baby, lots of housework to do, so I did my work and memorized scripture. I was in my early 20's.

You would have really laughted at me. That bible went everywhere in the house with me. Proped on the bedside table as I made the beds, by me as I vacuumed, on a shelf above the sink as I did dishes. I wouldn't let any "me" thoughts in at all.

I am 87, now. It took care of the depression and I am still free of it.
