Well, i just lost my longer post.
I think details help others know how to pray, but I will just get to the point.

I just learned that a friend is walking away from Jesus as Lord.
I am going to see her perform in a musical in another state. I do not know if she will see me, but pray that I am a friend who is quick to listen. She does not need or want my thoughts, and I do not want or need this either. But if she does the unthinkable and asks me for advice, pray that my words are focused on her needs--with truth and love--and that they are in accordance with God.

I am nothing, "but only Him, who makes things grow" (1 Corinthians 3:7).

P.S.
I look forward to her return to the cross and resurrection, to her Maker in Heaven.

Praying for you to be a good listener :)

Sometimes people want to know you care about them first, before they will listen to what you have to say.

Praying that your friendship is rekindled :)

Show love, and a continual friendship for thats what Christ shows us even today.

Lord,
Give him strength and wisdom
to live this day as he ought.
Give him wisdom...
to know when to speak and when to keep silent,
to know when to act and when to refrain from action,
to know when to speak his mind and when to hold his peace.
Enlighten his friend from the actions of his friendship
So bring him to the end of this day
in goodness, in happiness and in peace.
Amen.

Thank you for praying for me.

Well, I definitely watched and prayed. Ironically, her role talks positively about Scripture, church, prayer, God, and people.
As I sat in the audience I prayed something like, "Lord, touch her heart; use her lines to challenge her in real life; draw her to You. And help me to be a praying friend..." After the play, I was able to hear her critiques of the perfomance before she went on her way.

Honestly, I do not feel like our friendship is a lasting one.
But my earnest prayer remains, "God, change her heart" (and mine).
