Hey guys, I could use some prayer. In the last few weeks I've been going through a lot emotionally, physically, and spiritually. It also may be caused by hormones? I know God's word is filled with promises, but for some reason or another I don't feel like I deserve anything....just lift me up on prayer that every time doubt enters my mind that I remember that I was created with a purpose and that doubt is a lie from the enemy.

We don't deserve anything... but fortunately, God's love for us doesn't hinge on that, does it? :)

Or you can tell the enemy it's never been about deserving but what God chose to do... None of us deserve anything and that's an easy way he gets to us to get us feeling down... Chin up buttercup;)

satan: you don't deserve anything
Believer: you're absolutely right
satan: snicker
Believer: but in Jesus I have it all anyway
satan: pouts and walks away.

That's what my best friend was telling me...well, after asking what was wrong with me...usually I am the one to remind her of what the word of God says.

Thank you!

Hi renewed,

Sometimes putting on a praise song helps.

And God's word is amazing when we're down for whatever reason. There are times when I'm so so down in the dumps, and then I'll open my bible and begin reading.

When I get to a part that talks about God's character, I'll pray and tell God how much I thank Him for whatever it is I'm reading.

For instance it says He's the God is all comfort. As I read that scripture, I will begin thanking Him for being my great comforter.

I say it out loud so that my ears can hear it. It builds my faith for me to hear with my own ears my voice saying God is the God of all comfort.

Or I might come upon Jesus as the way, the truth, the life scripture. Again, I pray the word out loud so my voice is heard and builds my faith. He is truth! I lie to myself, the enemy, lies to me, the world lies to me - but Jesus never lies to me.

He's the way, the only way - the world and the devil will steer me in a different way, but because He's the way, I can trust in Him. I thank Him for keeping me on the straight and narrow path, for being the way to my Heavenly Father - the only way.

And He's my life. All other life is a facade.

If Satan brought all the riches of this world, laying them before the eyes of Jesus, he'll try to tempt us with everything life has to offer to deceive us into thinking we're missing out on life.

But Jesus is truly the life and all we need. We're not missing out on anything because we're following Him. So I'll pray and thank Him that I've found true life in Him!

It it may sound simplistic or no big deal, but I can't tell you how blessed I get when I pray out loud the scriptures.

And when I'm having such a difficult day, He really gives me strength to carry on with my day. He renews my joy and helps me gather my thoughts and reject the bad or negative thoughts.

Like the scripture that says we are to take every thought captive. So I'll find my bible and turn to 2 Corinthians 10:3-5. We don't war as the world does. Our battle is in our mind. And then I thank God for His provision to take every wrong thought, every evil thinking and make those thoughts believe His words and His truth and not the enemies lies.

Sorry that's such a long post. But when I find something that helps me, I like to share it. I pray the Lord lifts your spirit and you begin to soar as the eagle.

Renewed_hope...Some words of encouragement for you in the Lord. Life can really pull us down for sure, but also our thought life can pull us down just the same. Its definitely a life long journey with the Lord, as He equips us the continue walking in faith & fighting the good fight of faith! I have days where I can feel the emotions & negativity trying to pull me down, but Jesus is teaching me to always "speak life" in all area's of my life. Faith comes through like a beautiful sunrise when I find the good in all circumstances. I know when we don't feel good physically & emotionally thats when we tend to be feel defeated. I just want to stand in agreement with others who are praying for you. May your Heavenly Father strengthen you spiritually, and bring strength to your physical body as well. Lord I pray that you would bring a calming peace deep within Renewed_hope's spirit. Give her rest & peace, as she put all of her trust in you Lord. Psalm 131:2 I have Stilled My Soul
1A Song of Ascents, of David. O LORD, my heart is not proud, nor my eyes haughty; Nor do I involve myself in great matters, Or in things too difficult for me. 2Surely I have composed and quieted my soul; Like a weaned child rests against his mother, My soul is like a weaned child within me. 3O Israel, hope in the LORD From this time forth and forever.…

Don't go by your feelings---- when doubt comes thank God for healing and strength----even ministers don' t " feel" worthy or saved ect.---- just a lie from the devil---- confess God's Word...

Feeling unworthy is the right feeling.. Because no one is worthy of the promises of Christ.. Thats why we seek to be deemed worthy of the promises of Christ.. We are deemed worthy because we believe Jesus and trust in what Jesus did to save us..

Being deemed worthy is not the same as actually being worthy..

What is the actual thing that people are struggling to believe?
apologies for my lack of clarity.

i think (?) we all have times where it's hard to r-e-a-l-l-y believe God loves us.

unworthy as we are, He loves us with an everlasting love.
i find when i am able to get my head around that, the trust comes.

I will certainly remember you in my morning prayers. You are right in saying that you were created for a purpose. The work that God has started in you He will certainly complete. I will also pray that you may life and to have it more abundantly. You certainly deserve that.

No worries thanks for the clarity..

I think that lack of belief that God loves us stems from us thinking of God as being another human being.. Our humanizing God.. God is... well a God and not a human being so while it is true that humans need to win the love of other human beings by being admirable and nice and to an extent good.. God does not have the mind set of a human and thus loves His creation unconditionally with a pure love that is far higher then we humans have for each other.. Gods love is not reliant on us being good enough for Him... If that where the case God would not love any human being and we would all be doomed..
