Father, those are lofty goals none of which I can fully attain this side of heaven. And yet you called me to be holy as you are holy. How does that even work? Where is the (gray)ce zone? You know my heart is to serve you whole heartedly, but you also know I'm a fallen vessel who doesn't want to take grace for granted or hoard it freely. Father, purify my motives. Where my heart is wrong, cleanse it. Where my mind is skewed, change it. Where my will is my own, make it line up with yours. Where my eyes see only what I want, make me see and trust what you want. I can do nothing without you. I cannot be holy or righteous or pure without you making me so. Father I know you embrace me even in all the muck. I know you accept me as I am even when I'm not where I should be. I know that you know the power of my own fallen nature even with the victory you won for me. Help me Lord. Help me to desire your will in everything. Help me to desire purity above all things but not try and attain it on my own. I know you hear this prayer, and I know this is a prayer you eagerly desire to answer. Help me to cooperate with you in this endeavor. I love you Father. Help me to honor you.
