I am new to Christian Chat but I needed a place to turn and talk. I have been through so much in my life both High and low but this year I have made mistakes financially that I am not going to be able to escape. I have lost my way and made decisions that have destroyed my business in its first year. After fighting years of Alcoholism and now sober for 7yrs that the Lord has blessed me with. I feel I have betrayed him for this gift of sobriety. I put my family in jeopordy of loosing everything in just 6 months. My choices this year have been the worse I have made since I stopped drinking and I am not sure what or how to turn it around. My faith in God is not in question but my faith in myself has been lost.

Hello SS2879

Congratulations first and foremost on being sober for 7 years that's awesome praise GOD!!! I strongly believe that we go through things because there are lessons we learn along the way , sometimes we don't learn the first time around so we have to go through something stronger to makes us see the BIG picture.

The Lord has so much in store for us , He knows his Plan for our lives and how we should be living our lives and many times we are too stubborn to recognize the things he sets at our table. I am happy to see that you haven't lost faith , I am also Happy that you recognize that he has blessed you... that it is he that deserves the praise not your doing, You and your family will pull through this just fine just keep your eyes on him . ask him to be the driver in your life to direct you and you will follow , be obedient The Lord never leaves us when we need him, He is always there just waiting for us to give it over to him so he can do his perfect work in us. He is so merciful that even when we fall short ,He picks up back up again as if we never left his arms.

I pray that you find peace, that your family builds together in all the storm a bond that will lift you all stronger than ever before, I pray that you turn everything over without a piece of doubt . Your Heavenly Father will not take from you ,But give to you the best of him.

Everything you are losing really made you happy? or was it something that was keeping you from him?

we need to see things through our fathers eyes and not our own. that's why we fall because we think we know what we need .

God Bless you and your Family Rejoice for the LORD is almighty and can make all new.

Dear (((((friend))))) in Christ Jesus, Welcome to this Christian forum!

This life is not an easy one by any means. When we enter into this world we enter already fighting for our survival. When we mature to adult age we are sometimes taken on roads that can lead us to either happiness or despair. But it is not entirely your fault as all of this is a learning process designed for your greater development and to build your Trust and Faith in God. We learn from our mistakes. The important thing to know is that you have those who will support you should you fall. And know that JESUS is the very first One who raises His hand in this effort!

Our LORD knows of your struggles and would never leave you alone in that. He also would not give you more than you are capable of handling. But the ever opportunistic adversary will see your moving ahead in life and try to come in to thwart your progress. You must not allow him to for he is a liar! God wants for you to be Successful and to build upon your life so that you can be all that you can be. The adversary wants just the opposite for you. But when the chips are down one feels that it is the end of the line and that they have reached the end of theiir rope. But you know what? That way of looking at things can only create a noose with that kind of rope. Rather see the "ribbons from Heaven" that can pull you upwards and away from self-defeat so that you can reach the pinnacle of your Success!

It is because God Believes In You that you are going to pull through this soon! Pray to Our LORD and Savior and ask Him to help and guide you from this point forward and He will! Do not look backwards at your past mistakes. Look only forward to what you are Going To Achieve in the next few months because God has a Good Plan for you! Ask Him to guide you towards it and then return here to let us know how well you are doing! I have no doubt that You Are Going To Make It!!
May God bless you always in all ways!

What a blessing, to see you refer to the 'gift of sobriety'! ♥
May I ask...did you make these decisions to create this calamity?
Of course not! You are, I am guessing, a husband and/or father?
What man would do such a thing? :)
So first of all, I pray asking the Father to help you stop beating yourself up, dear one.
For just as you know He gave you the ability to stop drinking,
so He also may intend this as a gift.

I pray you will be able to trust your family to His kind keeping.
He has always been the One to provide for them through your
hard work and dedication...maybe He wants you (and us all!) to see that?
I pray for His provision for you in all things,
I ask Him to tenderly love you,
and that grace will abound toward you in all things.

grace and peace to you, in the love of Jesus,
ellie
