If you're interested, please read EVERYTHING. I am NOT lying in any way or form and I am Trying my best to explain this to the best of my ability.

The Problem:

For the past two months, my mother has been going through certain experiences nearly every single time she wakes up. I sleep with my mother in the same bed every night, and I have yet to see anything.

It first started with a transparent like man. She says that the man is actually Waking her up. Whenever she taps to wake me up in order to see it, she says that it runs off. She's seen the man about four times so far. I've never seen it yet.

Then things started to change a bit. About two times, she's said she have seen some graffiti that looks like "HELL" or something similar on the wall. Along with that, she once thought she saw many ants crawling on her wall.

Very rarely, the things she sees Isn't bad. Once when I was oiling her hair, she was half asleep. Right when she woke up, she said "I see Jesus". I asked where, and where she pointed (which was up high on the wall) - I didn't see any resemblance of Jesus Anywhere. She also claimed that yesterday, she saw a women in a dress next by where I was sleeping.

That's not all. The most common thing she sees is spiders crawling all over her dresser. Sometimes she says that bats are flying towards her. She says that she sees the spiders Vividly (saying that they're brown and that their legs are wiggly-like), however, the bats are more transparent - like the more person-like figures she sees.

She has woken me up again. This time, she says that the transparent man had either devil horns or cat like ears. She says that he was mocking her because he was acting like she did before: My Mother and I used to joke around with an old stuffed animal - a Hamster beanie baby. She says that the man with horns/ears woke her up and was actually mimicking her doing that, and as soon as she tapped me to wake up, it "ran away".

I know this is Awful for my Mother to see this Every time she wakes up. I feel extremely sorry for her. She says that she's NOT Hallucinating, yet I'm unsure what to think - especially since I'm very interested in the medical field (I almost always believe there's a diagnosis for Everything..unfortunately..)

Possible Causes? :

Yes, my Mother Is on medication. She is on a daily regimen of hypertension medication due to her having a nervous breakdown from issues that my father caused years ago. And along with that, she's been on the medication for Years - more than a Decade. I doubt that the medicines are giving her this kind of reaction - so I cross that out as a possibility.

Due to an incident at a gym (I actually can't explain this in detail), my Mother is in constant pain - mainly in her hip. Doctors have giving her Oxycodone. I actually thought that This was the cause - However, she Rarely takes it. I actually Really thought this was the caused so I told her to Completely stop taking them for a week. Nothing changed. So I cross that out as a possibility.

The biggest thing that's bothering me is that my mother had two Horrible migraines before any of this happened. She had to go to the emergency room for one that was in September of last year. The latest one she had was in (I believe) March - she actually got really sick from it.

Ever since those two migraines, my Mother has been having these hallucinations. She has NEVER had them years before, and it all started as a once-a-week type of thing with the invisible man waking her up. The migraines is making me worry, and that's the Only cause that I have for her (what I believe is) hallucinations.

Why do I believe it's hallucinations? :

Well for one thing, I haven't done any biblical research on Demons or how they appear or so. That's something that I must do. I'll ask for help within a thread in the Bible section of these forums tomorrow morning.

There are four reasons as to why I believe these are hallucinations:

1. It appears that whatever she's seeing is Afraid of me. I'm only an 18 year old, 5'4 female. I'd Doubt that something demonic would actually Hide from me. I mean, for What reason? If I saw whatever it is that my mother sees, I'd be Horrified. I'm actually shocked that the spiders literally do Not bother her - If I ever saw what she sees, I couldn't live with myself solely because of the spiders. So why would the demon "run away" whenever she wakes me up? I'm not very dangerous or anything. Basically, this is a Personal reason that isn't a Grand reason why I believe she may be hallucinating. Now I actually Want to see what it is that my mother sees.

2. This is happening Way too often. About 1 out of every 2 times my mother wakes up (and is wide awake for about 3 minutes) she'll see something. It's not just One thing she's seeing, it's a variety of things. It's also not happening solely at night - when she naps and wakes up during the day, she'll most likely see spiders. Basically, this happens nearly Every time she wakes up. This is actually a condition called Hypnagogic hallucinations. I told her this, yet she Still refuses to believe she's not hallucinating. It's happening too often, and the things she sees isn't solely demonic (example, seeing Jesus, the women in a dress)

3. Nothing else paranormal is happening. Of course, nothing else Has to happen. Yet this is still slightly a reason as to why I feel these are hallucinations.

4. The migraines that she's had in the past year. This is what's really worrying me that something may be wrong with her brain - Literally. However, when she went to the emergency room for her migraine in September, the only thing they saw was inflammation - Nothing severely abnormal (such as a tumor). It's been eight months since..I doubt that a tumor or some sort of illness of the brain would ravish at such a fast rate. Yet, of course, I'm not exactly sure.

This is seriously beginning to take a toll on me and my Mother's life. I feel extremely sorry that she has to go through this nearly Every time she sleeps. Not only is it awful for her, it's simply Annoying. I'm hardly ever getting any sleep because she's waking me up - I don't quite have a problem with this. However, she believes that I'm not "paying attention" whenever I wake up and that's NOT true. I don't know how to prove to her that I AM actually looking for what it is that she's seeing when I actually do Not physically see it. She says that since it's invisible, I have to literally look hard and pay attention in order to see it, however, I literally don't pay attention whenever I'm working on something - yet I still see invisible floaters flying within my eye. If I'm able to see these flying, floating invisible particles in my eye, I can most likely see an invisible man threatening, mocking and scaring my Mother.

Please, help me out with whatever you can in a Positive manner. Please do NOT be rude, I do not have ANY time for bickering. Me, and my Family, Solely need some help. If you do not have any medical advice or if you honestly do not know what to say, just PLEASE pray for us.

I will make a thread within the Bible section in order to get a hint of how demons may appear or so. If you have any biblical information on that topic, please respond to the thread. I will post it up tomorrow morning.

Thank you, and I Truly appreciate your time for reading this.

Re: My Mother is seeing "Demons" (please read All of it if you're interested).

Huge hugs to you and your mom, blacktigress.
It is possible the hypertension meds combined with the recient migraines have triggered this.
My mom was on hypertension meds for a while when she started to see things, it was when she had another medical issue that this happened.
For her it was animals dancing on the hood of my car and other visions.
By the way, she was blind at that time.
For unknown reasons the med she was on , caused this reaction, even though she had been taking it for a while.
Also, did the drs check your mom for signs of mini strokes?
I hope this helps. :)
Praying in Jesus's name for all healing and a peaceful sleep for your mom.

Hugs and God bless

Re: My Mother is seeing "Demons" (please read All of it if you're interested).

Do you know what dose she is taking? Are you sure she's not taking too much medication? Or worse still, is she mixing medications? I'm not a medical professional but I imagine too high a dose or mixing pills/meds together could cause issues. I don't want to worry you, but have you read about dementia and Alzheimer's? My thoughts are that she may or may not be showing symptoms of dementia, from what you have shared about the hallucinations.

Have a read of this to see if it fits? Link --> Hallucinations and Delusions | Dementia Care Central

I once fractured a rib and was put on a strong pain killer, to take before sleeping. I was traveling at the time and staying at a friend's home right on the lake in Washington DC while they were out of town... one of those homes where you hear every bump in the night and also the breeze against the windows.

The first time I took that strong painkiller I began hallucinating and it was awful, I saw a black demon like thing coming towards me from the boat dock, it was terrifying. I was alert to everything, like my senses were hyped to the extreme, very worrying. I slept with the light on that night and refrained from taking the pain killer again the next night. I'm petite, so things go to my system very quickly. I usually try to avoid taking pills of any kind preferring to get rid of things naturally, but sometimes it's unavoidable.

Regarding migraines, my mother used to get them when she was in her 40's and they were so bad that she was bed ridden and they caused her to vomit daily. The doctor put her on insulin which seemed to help. I don't recall the last time she had a migraine, but eating chocolate usually brings it on, so she can only eat that in moderation.

A friend of mine, from a long time back, took something one night, which had him hallucinating and seeing all kinds of things. He felt like something evil was chasing him and it sent him running into a field in the early hours. My mother also had her drink spiked in her teens and was terrified she would never snap out of it, all became blurry and she began seeing things she wish she didn't. I'm not suggesting your mother is taking a drug of any kind, just that medication drugs can affect everyone differently.

I will pray for you, that she recovers from this and gets the right treatment and that you both are able to get restful sleep.

Great feedback :) I hope it is useful to you...this is a very upsetting time. How old is your Mum? .....You say you sleep in the same bed? Is there a specific reason for this....you are 18? Just 2 of you in the home? This is a lot for you to be dealing with too, have you support? I suggest you and your mother rule out any physical issues. There are no coincidences with God, so the onset of these symptoms is relevant? I think going back to the doctor and fully describing what has been happening. Being on medications for a long time is also no security to side effects occurring after sometime, so I would not rule that out either, or conflict between meds. I join others here in praying for answers and solutions to be given swiftly, in His name, <><

Re: My Mother is seeing "Demons" (please read All of it if you're interested).

My instant reaction is hallucinations. But, do not allow thoughts of demons to start ruling how you process what is happening. Get a medical and psychological evaluation for your mother, and do it soon, for her health's sake. There are cases where a demon can get into your thinking through these kind of events and make you seriously doubt your faith. Floaters are a medical phenomenon, as I'm sure you know. Your ability to see the man is the kind of thing I am concerned about. You have given a fairly complete adn professionally responsible (even for a pre-med student) list of potential medical causes. I'm sure you'll find one or more of them are responsible. You can pm me if you like, I can give you some more paranormal options, but I think you know them already.

Re: My Mother is seeing "Demons" (please read All of it if you're interested).

I am not a mental health professional but I know something about demons. Of course no one here can say with any accuracy what her issues maybe. A psychological evaluation sounds prudent to me. However, I also know demons are real and it sounds as though this could be a demonic issue.

Demons can appear to the person they possess in any form they wish. Demons have no problem appearing as Jesus to mock Christ. Of course no one here can say with any accuracy what her issues maybe. I would suggest she read a Christian book called "Bondage Breaker" by Neil Anderson. They also sell a workbook that is worth getting. It is a basic start in deliverance.

Below is a questionnaire that might be helpful to see if she may have a demonic issue going on. The more points on the list below means an increased likelihood of having a demonic issue. Keep in mind that some people could have nothing in common with that list or all of them and not have a demonic issue. Still it is useful as those who have a demonic issue seem to always have those points in common with that list.

_______________________________

Please look at the list of ten items below. For every item you have in common with this list, give yourself a point. Then add all your points and see what your risk might be for a demonic issue in your life.

1) Abusive childhood or a traumatic experience up to age 15. (May have some amnesia of this trauma)

2) Issues with depression or anxiety

3) Suicidal thoughts or Attempted Suicide

4) Self harm (cutting, burning, hair pulling, hitting or biting ones self.)

5) Victim of sexual abuse.

6) Previously seen a ghost or spirit or spiritual entity or felt/sensed the presence of one.

7) Possess spiritual abilities. (psychic, telekinetic, communicating with spirits, etc)

8) Frequent Nightmares or frequent night terrors

9) Sudden shift in emotions (explosive anger that comes out of no where, tears for no reason, separate personality, etc)

10) Occult or paranormal proclivities. Fascinated with ghosts, psychics, UFOs, Ouija board, vampires etc.

Pts ____Risk
0-2 …Low risk
3-4….Moderate risk
5-10…High risk

The way to get rid of demons is to call on the Lords name.. its like when you are in a dark room the way to get rid of the darkness is to turn on the light.. get rid of the darkness by calling on the Lords name

Hi there :) I will be keeping your family in my prayers and that God brings peace to her. The migraines sounds like could have damaged something that can be triggering these kind of things? I hope you guys see a Dr soon for this, and no matter what we will continue to pray for her!
God Bless!!

Re: My Mother is seeing "Demons" (please read All of it if you're interested).

I pray for her freedom in whatever is going on. Even if it is health or Demons the answer is the same Bible scripture. If she truly believes the Lord can do anything pray his word back to him.
2 Timothy 1:7 For God has not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.

Romans 8:15 The Spirit you received does not make you slaves, so that you live in fear again; rather, the Spirit you received brought about your adoption to sonship. And by him we cry, "Abba, Father."

Jeremiah 17:14 Heal me, LORD, and I will be healed; save me and I will be saved, for you are the one I praise.

Psalm 60:5 Save us and help us with your right hand, that those you love may be delivered.

Isaiah 58:8 Then shall your light break forth like the dawn, and your healing shall spring up speedily; your righteousness shall go before you; the glory of the LORD shall be your rear guard.
