All growing up I struggled with sleeping problems and nightmares. Just recently it has become quite regular that my sleep has been interrupted with nightmares again. It gets to the point when it's easier to remain awake and exhausted rather than trying to sleep and feeling exhausted from the nightmares.

If you could just pray with me that the Lord take these nightmares from me or reveal what the problem is, that would be great. Thank you everyone

I will pray for you. When you face anything that disturbs you, always use the authority you have been given to overcome the enemy, the bible says in Revelation 1:6 that you are a priest and king unto God. And in Ecclesiastes the bible says the word of a king has power. Mark 11:23 also says you can have what you say and 2 Corinthians 10:4-5 tells us that the weapons we have are mighty through God to bring down anything. Throughout the bible God is showing us the authority He has given to us, so whenever you have a nightmare, get up, rebuke them from being near you in the name of Jesus! God bless

Thank you very much, shemaiah and wwjd_kilden. I will definitely try to remember to take authority over my dreams. It's funny how easy it is to let that slip your mind when in that situation. Thank you for the prayer, scriptures, and advice. It is all greatly appreciated. I'm praying for a better night tonight.

I will keep you in my prayers. Don't be afraid of nightmares. Anything bad that fear when you begin not to fear it then it will go away. Try reading the bible and reading the verses below before sleeping. :)

Proverbs 3:24
"If you lie down, you will not be afraid; when you lie down, your sleep will be sweet."

Psalm 4:8
"In peace I will both lie down and sleep; for you alone, O Lord, make me dwell in safety"

Psalm 91:5
"You will not fear the terror of the night, nor the arrow that flies by day,"

Sometimes I have the same problem!
I just simply pray for him to bless my mind, body, and soul as I sleep.

Dear Lord, please her have holy and pure dreams each and every night. Let this person sleep to a beautiful dream and wake up to a beautiful day everyday. Protect her thoughts so that they will not be tainted with unholy thoughts causing her to have nightmares. Come inside in her dreams and comfort her. In your name my day lord, that I will love forever and always, amen.

i have found that if i suppress and deny things that worry and bug me instead of confront and pray about them, that I will have nightmares about the situation.

its like my mind reveals whatever I'm afraid of and twists into into a dream and when I wake up. I realize what i was trying to deny worrying about in the first place.

like unresolved anger and unforgivness and bitterness.

Worry and lack of trust that God will provide, etc.

slowly because i'm stubborn, i've learned to pray and give it all to God and trust Him to help me deal with it because I know alone i could not. I know how weak I am so I trust that God will give me the strength wisdom and faith to overcome temptations and trust in Him to help.

Ephesians 4:26
“Be angry, and do not sin”: do not let the sun go down on your wrath,

God is good! I really felt and feel your prayers, thank you all. Last night was a nice and restful sleep. AnandaHya- I think you are right about suppressing things and having them affect my sleep. I'm praying about that and trying to give my stress to the Lord. Nodmyheadlikeyeah- I will be praying for you as well, it's certainly not an easy thing to go through.

Thanks again! All your prayers have been a true blessing!
