Hi kat1085
I'm sorry to hear about your issue. My sister suffered quite badly from epilepsy and panic attacks. I read in the Bible of the young one possessed by the demons which the apostles couldn't heal or rid him of and Jesus said that there are some who can only be cured by prayers and fasting. So I thought 'good I can do that for my sister.' I think I fasted for 48 hours and prayed. When I seen my sister she came to visit me. I looked outside to see who was with her. She laughed and asked me what I was doing so I asked her who was with her. She happily told me that for some reason all the fear just left her and she just wanted to get out and enjoy living. So happy for her
Now panic attacks are a very common issue and instead of telling how to get rid of them for some it goes much deeper and should be addressed.
There are of course different reasons that so many people face this disorder and some not even found out as yet.
The most common would be attacks by demonic forces for those still weak in their walk with God to deal with it of which by faith can ask God to deal with them.
The other is insecurity issues stemming from peer pressure, others in your life whether it be parents, siblings, other family members, friends of the family, or other community members, teachers, preachers, police, social workers etc etc speaking evil over you. ie 'you are too dumb, you will never amount to anything, s/he is so ugly, they are poor, they are lazy, nobody wants you, you can't do anything right and ...
esp. the hidden ones no one thinks is detrimental to your life is over protective parents not allowing you to do things because you might break something, or you might choke on anything too large (in their opinion), you can't make your own sandwich because you might cut yourself with the butter knife, you can't use glass because you might break the cup/plate, etc etc.
Then there is abuse in its many forms esp. those who keep it a secret because they are ashamed or they are told not to shame the family name or some other lame excuse.
And lastly that I can think of is committing in their opinion a great sin.
*** If any of these sound like you then take it to God and if HE wants you to seek counselling He will tell you but DON'T forget Jesus IS the great counsellor. Ask for His guidance AND don't be so hard on yourself.
